Re: Obligatory Prayers : 3 or 5 ?
That’s backwards. The Quran-only crowd insist all 5 are in the Quran as a retort to the other extreme that suggests the Hadith are necessary to complete (and not contextualize/elaborate upon) the Quran.

Those with sense bring up the verse psyah mentioned (which is in no way ambiguous, unless one really wants the verse to fit a preconceived idea) or that a ritual like prayer would have (and arguably has) been transmitted without the aid of Hadith. Or are you suggesting that Muslims did not pray until the Hadith were fully compiled, vetted, etc? What is certain is that there are numerous Hadith that detail that the Prophet (pbuh) and his companions established regular prayers, and there is no ambiguity as to their timings. This is not intended as a circular argument, but to point out that they learned the ritual of prayer through the Prophets example. The Quran does indeed make mention the importance of establishing regular prayer. It’s insane to think this ritual would not have propagated otherwise…but to those who wish to argue for the sake of arguing, I suppose there can be no satisfaction on the matter…
Assalamu’alaikum bro picoico
I think you may have caught Seminole here, who thinks he can speak on behalf of those who are “Qur’an only” i.e. the Submission.org people. They clearly assert five prayers from the Qur’an … perhaps Seminole should try to convince them he is right? Ok that is a bad idea. JazakAllahuKhair.
