Obama won, so what?

What change will he bring? I open this thread in Cafe because I know I will get different results here than world affairs forum. This is for the cafe people..

Do you think he’s another power hungry capitalist puppet of the corporate mafia? Or is he your hero?

Re: Obama won, so what?

^ :k:

Obama will be worse than bush, mark my words!

Why are people getting so head over heels for a guy who hasn't shown anything yet?

Obama is nothing but another puppet in the game of american politics.

Calm your horses people.

Re: Obama won, so what?

^ People have been sucked in by his "eloquence" - Hitler too had the powerful speeches.

Re: Obama won, so what?

People are going crazy over nothing. I saw a rally in jamaica they were prancing around for the elections, -- do they even know what America has done to the Jamaican economy?

It won't change, American policies that affect people all over the world will always remain the same!

Our pakistani people really need to get a grip of themselves, and think rationally about all this. We don't need to join the emotional bandwagon and prance around as if America became a muslim country or something.

There is no change, nothing will change, its nothing but a temporary hype.

Re: Obama won, so what?

Yes, they have been fooled by the "black" illusion. An illusion all too familiar....

Re: Obama won, so what?

^ Blah blah blah… whine all you want. If I were you, I would zip it and moan under the covers tonight instead of coming online and ranting about a lost cause!

:cheer: LOVE OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA! OBAMA! :cheer:

Re: Obama won, so what?

Re: Obama won, so what?

But from where did he get his $650 million USD. Obviously he would be a corporate puppet

Re: Obama won, so what?

^ yes!

The election process itself should show the people what is truth. People will back up this system with their hard earned money for some power hungry capitalist just to hear some fancy words.

Re: Obama won, so what?

celebration mode here too :snooty:

Re: Obama won, so what?

Personally, I find myself relatively indifferent towards Obama’s victory.

On the one hand, I am really happy to witness a historical moment - an achievement in its own right on a social front… nothing can take away the significance of racial progress that has been made to get to this point. Hence, coupled with my delight along this front, I want to congratulate him and wish him Good Luck!

At the same time, I’m not sure of what to expect of him once he assumes office. Can he live up to his promises… he hasn’t delivered just yet. In the long-term, only time will tell how he fares as the President of a country with diminished domestic pride and worldwide respect as of recent years. There are a lot of social, economic and energy issues to contend with domestically and a fairly challenging foreign relations landscape. Overall, Obama has a hard row to hoe and I hope, for the sake of the world, he is up to it.
