Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
Seminole, Why should I support a person who stands for everything I do not believe in?

Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
Hes coming to my city tomorrow, might just go see him!
Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
^ I agree he is some kind of attraction ala Circus and freak show :)
Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
Well that is a whole separate issue then trying to peg him as a racist because you think some preacher is.
But everything he stand for you do not believe in? Here are some things (from his website: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/) that he stands for. I don’t see how anyone can be against all of them.

Yeah, too bad Mccain cant put up a good show, he'd die in a jiffy.
Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
I am not voting in this election, but there were a few things that are just a very minor part of the election campaign that I was looking at, and I compared the responses of all the major candidates for presidency, about the H1-B employment issue (skilled worker). I found out that Obama's insight into the thing was the best out of the lot, and it seemed like he had really researched the issue and interacted with the problems associated with the visa, while keeping in mind the shortage of Mathematicians, Scientists, and Engineers to ensure that the US retains its global competitive edge. Romney's insight was pretty good as well. If anyone is interested, I have the link saved.
Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
I agree with the original post that Obama seemed to have whithered the storm and is now looking more like a presumtive nominee. Problem is he is facing a Clinton, and we all know how resilient these guys are, plus this time she is $20 million in debt with everything riding on her winning the nomination. This is a scary combination. I bet in the coming days, Florida and Michigan delegates will come back and haunt everyone.
So, I doubt Obama should count his chickens, quite yet. Yes, it seems like a mathematical certainty, but Clinton has still not bowed away.
Re: general elections, McCain vs Obama will be a fascinating fight. One guys pours experience and the other completely without. One guy is a decorated war veteran, the other has no military record whatsoever. One guy has years of Senate record to look back on, the other is a freshman. One guy bores you to tears through his speech delivery, the other fired up a whole generation. One guy promises to continue the current policies, the other wants to change Washington.
Could these guys be any more different. Depending on who they each pick as their VP, this will be a tough fight through all the battleground states.
If I were to make an early prediction, I'd say that after this bruising Democratic primary, McCain has a really good chance to pull it off in November. Bad economy, failed war, a highly charismatic opponent and poor speaking skills notwithstanding.
Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
Hillary Clinton's campaign was over after New Hampshire. She had been dragging it since, it sad cause by an honorable exit she could have restored some pride in her quest for White House. Right now she looks, selfish, divisive and not the VP candidate.
Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
It seems as of today Hillary is putting away the guns and preparing for her draw down. She defend Obama against McCain's Hamas attack and once again said it would be a terrible mistake for anyone to vote for McCain over Obama. Add that to big time Clinton supporter James Carville stating he has a undated check written out to Obama, it appears the Democratic nomination process is headed for a soft landing.
Another plus for Obama, he scores a big endorsment tonight, John Edwards.

Actually she does not....It shows that she is a fighter and she fought till the end..... That's true that the last nail in coffin is Edward's endorsement.
Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
Edwards endorsement means that much....no wonder, the golden boy racist is doomed.....getting an endorsement from an ambulance chasing, $1500 gay hair cut getting, abandoning wife with cancer is meant to be a boon ....
Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
Anyone endorsing Obama right now is not exactly a risk-taker or displaying political astuteness. They are just stating the obvious and getting on the bandwagon. No big deal. Edwards couldn't even carry Carolinas for Kerry, so I am not exactly sure his endorsement is all that big a deal from a purely voters standpoint.
Obama may be the presumptive nominee, but he has quite a few problems to figure out right now. W.Va may not be important from a primary/delegate stand point, but it just continues to demonstrate a pattern of voting blocs that are not breaking for Obama. Unless he can figure out a way to broaden his appeal beyond blacks, youth and educated whites, it is difficult to see how he can actually win in November. How will he appeal to women, Latinos, evangelicals, veterans and most importantly blue-collar whites?
Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
i think the edwards endorsement stole whatever oppurtunity hillary had to milk her west virginia win

Hate much Kaleem?
John Edwards guilty of: Being attorney for a woman who's breasts were removed because of a hospital error. Guilty of: attorney for a child who became permanently disabled after a hospital gave him 10x's the dose of medicine he was suppose to have. Guilty of: going after a tire manufacture after tires know to be defective caused a car accident killing a child and father.
why are you concerned with his haircuts and why do you call them gay, you sound homophobic, are suppressing some gay feelings?
Then you go so low (truly scum of the earth low Kaleem, I mean that) by saying he abandoned his cancer ridden wife ? Honestly, what is wrong with you? You don't know the Edwards so don't pretend you do, how do you justify saying such a thing, it's truly a scum of the earth suggestion.
You have a habit of attacking politicians with verbal insults such as bit*h for Hillary (because she's a powerful women) , Gay for John Edwards (Because you find him cute and your homophobic), and Racist for Obama (because he knows a guy who has said some controversial remarks). You do show the true voice of the Republican party and I'd have to say what an awkward party that must be to belong to. After hearing what they have to say about your faith, I mean one of the main attack tacits of your party is to paint Obama as a Muslim, lol that must be personally ironic, no? That can't be comfortable.
Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
UTD you seem surprised that Republicans are continuing their practice of slash and burn politics. Heck, they have mastered that iniqutious art form over the past 16 years. Unfortunately they have brought political discourse to these lowly levels where people and causes are demeaned to this personal and hateful level. While it scares and influences enough bigots and ignorants to vote, demographics and common sense are against them. I'll say this again - this is the last election where GOP will be comptetitive until and unless they change their policies and political discourse.

I agree , he was very harsh on Edwards, but again Edwards profile doesn't look that strong to cheer a lot for.

It took you long enough to dig up his record. Are those the only three good deeds he did in his not so illustrious career? The fact remains that he is a hypocrit (by association with Stiff Al Gore) for asking all of us to change our ways or the sky will fall...while he was getting his pretty hair done.

Again, I am far from it. I only call out what is wrong according to my beliefs. If you have a problem with it, you can summon your empty rhetoric of being tolerant of other's views to good use.

I did not go low at all. I stated the fact. he left his wife while she was sick to be on the campaign trail. Try to refute that. You cannot. If I was in his shoes, I will not even think about running for an office much less leaving her to fullfill my bogus ego to run for office.
UT, you know what is ironic, that in the same post you preach that I should not make assumptions if I do not know the person, yet you dive right into painting a picture of my personality without knowing a single thing about me or my personality. Do you really think you know me?
BTW: You better teach your golden boy racist the count of states in the Union :D

Faisal, please put that CNN feeder down. This sentence of yours is prime example of how media influences the thinking of the people. Do you really believe that educated whites support Obama? Where are the statistics for this ridiculous claim? You know my wife is Ph.D... i dont think you can get much higher than that in education and she does not support this racist.
Re: Obama survives, prepares for general election
^ Your sample of one, while fascinating and lovely, is hardly scientific. Look at exit poll data from all the primaries already conducted. Their sample is more than one, so probably a bit more reliable.
