On February 5, 2009 President Barack Obama quoted Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, Jesus and the Torah during his remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast.
President Obama said "in Islam there is the hadith that reads “None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself.”
Right wing groups are criticizing the president for being inclusive and for reaching out to Muslims.
President Obama should be commended and thanked for being inclusive, encouraging religious harmony and rejecting those who use faith as an excuse to spread intolerance.
LET’S MAKE SURE HE KNOWS HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE HIS COMMENTS.

I personally think it's a goodwill gesture, and to give the impression of a warm new start with Obama Presidency. Because much of the world was and continues to watch what he does. So he's making sure he doesn't leave any one group/faith/religion behind in this "We are all fighting our cause" kinda thing.

Yeah, that's definately true. But we have yet to see how the world perceives his actions and whether his actions match the words. People are still looking at this administration with a certain amount of suspicion. It will take some time to undo the bad deeds of the past 8 years...
He did it way ahead of President Obama. Don’t you remember him saying “Nawaz sharif and my agreement are not hadith that cannot be broken”
Everyone is hoping for a return to the good policies of America that made it an attraction before. Hopefully we’ll see the hawkish policies reversed and the middle-way adopted by Obama administration.

just recently israel butchered over 1500+ palestinians...i didn't see / read / heard obama doing anything to resolve the conflict or to even ask the israelis to stop their aggression...how good is that? him quoting a hadith is of what value?

Because Obma and every President of US is slave of Israel and take oath of defending the State of Israel even at expense of Security of US. The powerful lobby of Israel and AIPAC etc they control whole US , economy,banks,stocks,academia everything.How can he speak against it.
