When oatmeal is cooked in milk into a thick creamy mixture it’s called porridge. Some other types of grains can also be used.

oatmeal soup....I have heard my grandmother making something savory with oatmeal and chicken cooked in chicken stock,lightly salted...maybe thats oatmeal soup...??
I think its meant for babies ...but I might be wrong...:)

Porridge is different from soup. Try mexican oatmeal soup and its different than how its cooked.
