Just saw a promos of Shaan doing a 9:00 am morning show Monday to Sunday(?) starting April 23rd.
Did they kick out Shaista Baji ?
Did she do a alvidaai goodbye show ?
The promo I saw with Shaan is not on YT yet.

How many morning shows do they need ?
Beside what's the point of a morning show on the news channel.
Already they keep interrupting the regular interesting shows with silly and annoying 'breaking news'.
I am not hopeful about Shaan as a host. He may be very boring as he does not seem very intelligent.
Worse is that his show is also replacing the weekend spot of the GEO Pakistan show.
I like the hosts of that show. I think the guy's name is Danish. He is a good host.
Why do these channels have to be such obvious copycats ?
I guess Shaan is a counter for ARY News's Baakhabar Savera morning show with Maya Khan.

Shaista HAS NOT been kicked out because she’s doing morning show on Geo’s entertainment channel and shaan is going to be doing a morning show on their news channel …
To be honest I think it will be a nice change for Shaan instead of those repetitive badmash type films…

I think quite a few people like those 2 hosts on the Sunday show on Geo News. Too bad they are kicking them out and welcoming Gandasa Butt Badshah instead.

Did you notice in the promo song that he was standing inside an empty and dark Evernew Studios with a 1902 movie camera by himself when Mr. Jeem comes to get him ? Pathetic !
IMO, he is too stiff and self-conscious to be a good talk show host - one who can speak intelligently without a written script or one who is smart and has world wide exposure.
I'll see if he proves me wrong but I am not hopeful.

^^ He's actually good ! Even my mum watches it ( and she hates morning shows).
The thing is it isn't one of those typical morning show. It's more like an informative type news show if it makes any sense . Like they discuss political news and what is happening in the country but not in a light hearted way. i think for a news channel this type of show makes more sense rather than the over the top dancing/singing etc , maya jo hai lol . The other day the mazdur show was pretty good :) One annoying thing is that they take way too many breaks. After every 10 mins !

Not only just breaks. Did Shaan not realize that these news channels cut in every few minutes for the silliest things that nobody cares about as 'breaking news'.
The other day 1 whole hour of the show was lost to breaking news.
The repeat doesn't help either because that is as prone to breaking news as the original slot.
The other thing I am noticing is his direct and indirect self-promotion, moralistic lectures and proving himself ultra-patriotic.
On Wednesday he showed himself visiting the victims of Lahore railway station bomb blast.
He went around the hospital bringing flowers to the wounded, hugging them, kissing them, blessing and encouraging them.
That was all nice except that he had the camera following him like the politicians when they want to show off how good and pious they are.
His regular guest is Jugnu Mohsin, who is sort of a scholar of history and politics. She is Najam Sethi's wife. Sethi - the Aapas ki Baat fame from GEO.

and during his conversations with Jugnu Mohsin he seems quite well informed and seems to have done his homework quite well which is not what one can say for other morning show hosts.

It took 2 weeks to realize that Saturday and Sunday slots are just recaps of the 5 week day shows.
And for this, he had the nice 'GEO Pakistan' weekend show with Danish, booted ?
How egotistical ?
I am sure the producers and hosts of GEO Pakistan must be loving Shaan - NOT !

She did interviews with important Indo-Pak personalities on PTV on 'Kuch Yaadein, Kuch Batein' recently. She was very good in that programme and conducted interviews very nicely and seemed to be well-informed. I had the impression that she was an Indian in that show.
woah so someone else (other than me) has actually seen this brilliant show!!! I loved "kuch yaadain kuch baatain" it was an amazing India/Pakistan collaboration and the way they would interperse actual footage of the places being talked about was brilliant. Its a pity none of our private channels would air something so non-mainstream and even PTV aired it so late that I ended up missing quite a few episodes because of that.

I understand what you are saying but part of me really feels that he is perhaps genuinely a concerned and caring individual who wants to bring attention to some of the causes he talks about. We know a very little about the Shaan the individual behind his on screen angry Gujjar persona, he is a bit of mystery in Pakistan showbiz. So maybe he is afterall a sensitive and patriotic person who's just realised that he can do lot more for the public than keeping his views and emotions to himself.
On a second note, I'm actually very impressed by the polite, calm and moralistic nature of the show. Its so much better than all the non stop over the top halla gulla, glamour, mindless praise and gossips and wedding weeks you see on the other morning shows. These days its very hard to find shows where the hosts (be it male or female) don't act like hyper active teens.
