NWFP for army action in southern Punjab

Army is freely operating in NWFP, Baluchistan and Sindh to eliminate jehadis. I wonder when it will start action in Southern Punjab which is the breeder of present jehadis and exported to three provinces.

PESHAWAR: The NWFP government has called for an early ‘Swat-like’ military operation in South Waziristan and southern Punjab, where it believes ‘terrorists are trained and sent to other parts of the country’.

The provincial information minister said at a press conference on Saturday that the bomb blast in Peshawar the previous day was aimed at forcing the government to call off the South Waziristan operation.

‘How can we stop terrorist activities in settled areas when the supply chain is intact,’ Iftikhar Hussain wondered.

‘Elimination of terrorists requires dismantling their organised networks in Waziristan and southern Punjab.’

He said that after the Peshawar bomb blast and the terror attack on the GHQ on Saturday the time had come for a decisive action against militants.

Asked if the Peshawar bomb blast was a riposte to the suicide attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul, the minister said ‘this factor cannot be ruled out’.

Re: NWFP for army action in southern Punjab

He is right. How can you stop terrorism without cutting off the supply chain? It has to be destroyed wherever it is.

Re: NWFP for army action in southern Punjab

This is strange thing to ask, provided, there is not a single Punjabi village which is being controlled by the religious extremists, unlike parts of NWFP and FATA, where religious extremists are forcing provincial govts to sign peace deals with them....

Before the Swat Operation, the local govt did what ever it could to solve the issues with the terrorists who were literally controlling the Swat and Malakand area, after the military operation, these areas are again under the govt of NWFP's control, please name one area in Punjab where we have Swat like situation, i understand the enemies of Pakistan and some idiots are supporting military operation in Punjab, but can they name/specify any area where we have terrorist's head-quarter and/or which is being controlled by the terrorists???

Every time there is terrorist attack it is claimed by the TTP in Wazirstan and not by any militant group in Punjab...

Re: NWFP for army action in southern Punjab

A quick question where are they operating in Sindh? I must say communal *******s like you are the reason this country is in this state. You place your pind over the nation every time you can.

I am sorry Reason you shouldn't be talking since you have openly support Al-Qaeda's view points on certain issues.

Re: NWFP for army action in southern Punjab

Niden, I think the title of the article is misleading. The minister has called for action in Waziristan AND Southern Punjab, which is something that is different from from what the title states.

Re: NWFP for army action in southern Punjab

ALL my comments were removed from this thread, and I said nothing out of line. It is documented that many suicide bombers ARE recruited from South Punjab and that there are terrorist organizations that are based out of the region.

Or am I confusing my threads?

People in this forum need to learn to moderate better.

When folks on this forum were calling (including myself) for a mission in Swat, we weren’t labelled anti-Pushtun. So, if you are calling for military action in Punjab, why do your comments mysteriously disappear?

Re: NWFP for army action in southern Punjab

niden :k:

mr. Reason will you please anwser my simple question if you dont mind?
When you talk about terrorism, fundamentalism and extremism do you then only mean ISLAMIC terrorism, fundamentalism and extremism???????????

Do you believe there is such thing as CHRISTIAN, HINDU, JEWISH Terrorism, Fundamentalism and Extremism??????
If you do then is it not about time thatyou conedemn all and not ONLY Islamic????

Do you not get it bro??
Thats the whole purpose to
mislead :)
and he succeeded it to mislead some
thank God not all.

Re: NWFP for army action in southern Punjab

HappyHeart, those guys don't throw bombs at people, subjugate women to humiliation, and do not make a sport of publicly executing dissenters in inhumane dog-like fashions.

So, yeah, there is discrimination everywhere, but the level of insane crazy extremism that these "muslim" terrorist groups exhibit shows that there is a serious flawed something in the muslim community.

Let's look at our own muslims first, before we point fingers at others. Pointing fingers wont make these clowns disappear.

The following extremist Religeous groups are based in Punjab and there should be operations against these extremist groups in order put a stop to the surge of suicide blasts all over Pakistan

Domestic Organisations:

1) Lashkar-e-Omar (LeO)

2) Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP)

3) Tehreek-e-Jaferia Pakistan (TJP)

4) Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi

5) Lashkar-eJhangvi (LeJ)

6) Sipah-e-Muhammad Pakistan (SMP)

7) Jamaat-ul-Fuqra

8) Muslim United Army

9) Harkat-ul-Mujahideen Al-alami

Trans-national Organisations:

4) Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT)

16) Al-Rashid Trust

17) Al-Akhtar Trust

One can google the above about the above.

Gudia u don't need a bomb to kill people
Killing of people is killing of people and anyone who does support or encourage that is an extremist and fundamentalist in my eyes.

You talk about dubjugating women but do only TAliban or AlQaida do that? ARe u totally unaware of what is happening elseware in the world dear Gudia ? :)

I know what is wrong in the Muslim countries and i do not need others to convince me of that. I just believe in the theory of First look in to your own mirror then blame others.

Every society has its problems and they will solve it with times. What is 60 years in a history ?? its like yesterday and 60 or 70 years ago women had very little rights in Europe and now Europe boasts about equal rights.

U talk about killing wtih bombs????? Well what did USA do in Iraq? they did not throw potatoes Gudria :) they killed hundreds of thousands of people with BOMBS, yes PEOPLE Gudria not animals. Well i am also against the brutal killing of animals (no please dont bring Qurbani in this lolz)

yo, what in the hack are you talking about? Who is misleading? Come out with clear comments will ya?

Wherever they are based they should be defeated and its such a childish discussion to bring up Punjab in this gosh you people are suffering from "Calimero effect".

All these jehadis who attacked GHQ belonged to Punjab, people in the vicinity are supporting them. Who do you want to surrogate these terrorists?

helloooo
this attack on GHQ is not the only attack in Pakistan
did you forget all the other attacks?
Anyhow this is not a fight between different provinces of Pakistan
what do you want to achive with pointing finger at Punjab?
Its the responsibility of the Pakistani government to protect its people
from North to South and from East to the West.
Every inch of Pakistan is the responsibitly of the Pakistan government.
Terrorism is Evil we have to fight together all the provinces all the ethinic communities of Pakistan are victim of terrorism.

This is not so simple. When you make hue and cry and lay all the blame on the people of one province, you should have the moral courage to accept that the master-minds (General Hamid Gul, Colonal Imam, Khalid Khwaja,…), and ideological, tactical, strategic, and logistical support basis of the Jehad and Islamic militaralism are in the Punjab.

This is not to blame Punjabi masses who are very nice, patriotic, hardworking people. But this is a fact that Jehadi groups are an extension of the military and intelligence agencies of Pakistan, which are dominated by the Punjab.

Following is a complete list.

Terrorist and Extremist Groups of Pakistan

Well mr. Last of the dinosaurs (thank God your the last - just kidding ok dont take me seriously!!)
i dont need a list. For me its about Pakistan not about a province.
We all are in the same Shiat!!!

And yes, there is no Pakistan when you talk about militancy in NWFP and FATA...Then you categorically attribute it to one province. This hypocrisy will not help Pakistan my friend.

Re: NWFP for army action in southern Punjab

The use of highly trained gunmen for armed assaults may show that the Taliban is changing its method from relatively simple suicide bomb attacks to more complicated and ambitious operations. It may also be a sign of an alliance between the Taliban and more established extremist groups, probably based in Punjab province. Aqeel is a Punjabi and he is thought to have played a key role in organising the gun attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore earlier this year.

Two militant groups, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, are based in Punjab – and both enjoy a degree of tolerance from the Pakistani authorities because of their historic role in fighting India’s presence in the disputed territory of Kashmir. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts have been concentrated on the Taliban and al-Qaeda in North West Frontier Province and the Tribal Areas. Observers believe that Pakistan can no longer pick and choose which extremist organisations to attack and which to leave untouched, because all are increasingly interlinked.
