Nursing Bra

Hi ladies,

Need some advise please. I spotted a really good deal at M&S , but am really confused if I should buy it yet ..

Someone told me size changes immediately after delivery and it can be a significant change and if that happens what ever nursing stuff I buy now will go to waste as it wont fit ..

Should I leave it for later or buy one now ?

Re: Nursing Bra

Buy it later. Or closer to delivery time cuz u dont k ow how big they will get by then. And then buy a pair... And see if u get any bigger... Then u can buy more... Some women go small even with bfeeding...some turn into whales up there. U dont k ow how u will be when the milk comes in :)

And also...i hope it works out for u...but u dont k ow if u will be able to bfeed...no point stocking up on something that u may never use. I did that with midget and he didnt bfeed for long. Useless expenditure. I waited with genie...delivered...bfeeding was going well...so i went and got fitted.... Should have gone that route the first time too.

Re: Nursing Bra

hmm thanks so much Khawa , honestly this whole thing has been really confusing . but you are making sense, I think i will hold on and see how things progress first ..

Re: Nursing Bra

buy it close to delivery date, if you are going to breastfeed, expect the size to change.

Lusi-----:D

Re: Nursing Bra

^ What is going on here :naraz:

I hope its you lusi, no wait, it better be you :asa:

Re: Nursing Bra

yes, it was me. sorry i did not realize i am posting from hubby’s login :smack:

Re: Nursing Bra

lol ^

Havent even given it s a thought as yet. CB where are you living really? Like in 2050? :cb:

Re: Nursing Bra

buy them later....but you can buy those shirts with buttons for nursing....

Re: Nursing Bra

yes, def. look at some loose shirts with easy to open buttons in the front, in the beginning when you are trying to get a hang of breast feeding, they are great. i like the night time nursing bras for home use, take a look at them as well.

Re: Nursing Bra

Thanks so much Lusi and Akmoti, I will certainly do that .. infact just today I was looking at buying a front button shirt :cb:

I think , I will leave the nursing bra bit for after delivery.. its just that they are really expensive generally , in the market .. I am hoping when inshallah i get used to BF I might be able to find a good deal then :hinna:

Lusi, how are night time nursing bra’s different from the usual ones we get in the market?

Oh and one more thing, I know its a very general question and can depend on individual body types , but just keen to prepare myself .. roughly how much size changes can one expect after the delivery? I was originally 34 , these days I have become 36-38 .. so right after delivery can it change so drastically that I may go back to 34 within days? Specially if I am able to succeed in BF inshallah, will the size shuffle between minor or major change?

Just asking coz I already bought two maternity bra’s last week , and now I am thinking if they will go to waste later on and I was contemplating getting another one , but now confused thinking perhaps I should just make do with the ones I got already

Uff , this whole size change thing is just too complicated

Re: Nursing Bra

I dont thnk u can be smart with the boobs...they outsmarted me both times!!

I went up 3 sizes with midget and then anither friggin size after delivery.

I thought chalo..i can use them with 2nd baby

Nopes! I went up only one size with genie and went back down to pre pregnancy size within a week after delivery even though i had MORE milk coming the 2nd time than the first.

Very wtf kinda moments and plenty of them post delivery. U will laugh :D

I say buy as u get bigger...And as u need them. Dont go for deals and buy ahead of time. u just dont know how urw body will change.

Re: Nursing Bra

if you have two for the time being, and they are of the appropriate size, dont go for more.

Khawa is right on the point that buy with the time and need coming. Dont buy pre time or unneeded.

Re: Nursing Bra

Khawa is right..do not stock up on them..!
Regarding how much sizes can change...there is no gauge to tell that.It varies.
2.5 years later and BFing for a total of 5 months,I have still not gone back to my old size.I went up a size up and its been that way.I doubt it will go down...:-/

Re: Nursing Bra

I actually really liked the nursing tanktops too. Just threw a cardigan or button-down on top, and felt more comfortable.

Re: Nursing Bra

Re: Nursing Bra

I will make do with the two I got :hinna:
