^ugh i hated that phoolon ka haar so much! i had told everyone strictly not to give me any and certainly not to expect me to wear it! as it is i was expecting to struggle with the 40 pounds wedding jora, jewelry and the dupatta, no need for extra stress. at my mehndi, noone got any garlands so when my husband walked in, alot of the aunties started asking who the groom was because he had walked in with so many of mine and my siblings’ friends that the room was filled with 20-something boys so to avoid confusion, my sister took this hawaiin looking garland (yellow and blue flowers) from god knows where and my husband even wore it!!! later on i was a bit upset and didn’t wanna go down to the mehndi so he came upstairs and as soon as i saw him, i started laughing soooo hard. i was like WHY are you wearing that ugly thing? later when we sat on the sofa together, all my friends/cousins/siblings were laughing at the garland with us because my husband would not take it off and all of a sudden my mom came and she was like, YEH kisne pehna diya tumhe??!! utaro!!! it was the funniest moment of our mehndi.
then again at nikkah, when he walked in with the baraat, my sister put a garland around his neck as it’s tradition and he wore it until we did the nikkah in the seperate room. when we were about to walk into the ballroom, i told him to take it off and he’s like, why, it looks so nice, i wanna wear it.. i was like no way, you can wear it after we walk in.. lol.. and made eye contact with my sister to hide that haar as soon as it comes off.. he seemed to REALLY love those garlands.. just as much as i dislike them.
This is sooooo much like me..
On our Enagagement as the ladkay walay came garlands were given,My fiance’ seemed to b loving it…after a while i was like plz take it off, asked my SIL and my Brother to take that phoolon wala haar off from him but i guess it was there till the func ended…
lets see what happens on the wedding…just hope everything goes well InshAllah..
