I’m so fed up with this! So we live in an apartment where you have to basically walk a little bit to get to our front door. We have to walk about 500 feet straight, and on the window straight ahead is our neighbor who is “always” standing in the window!! Its sooo annoying! day and night, basically she lives by herself and has nothing to do. She stands in the window and watches whoever walks straight to the door of that apartment, her window is to the right of the door. Its such a long walk and I can see her standing there looking the whole way were walking home. In the beginning I told myself this is her window and she can look at whoever she wants and tried to ignore her, but its constantly getting on my nerves. I wish the walk to the door wasn’t so long…I hate walking home, because I know she is standing there looking at everything we bought. its soo uncomfortable! Even when I have no shopping she just stares at whoever walks that way…I don’t think she’s mental or anything, she’s somewhat old and has no life.
I was thinking of writing her a note “anonymously” letting her know that this is bothering people living in the apartment. However is it okay if I do that? Its her right of “looking” out of her window right?? and no there is no other way inside my apartment, besides that route.

Instead of writing an anonymous note, why not politely tell her in person? However, I would leave out the "creepy," "has no life," and "getting on my nerves" part.

Maybe you should try to befriend and get to know her? If she lives my herself and is lonely, a nice hi/hello, smile or wave may be what she is craving. A little empathy goes a long way

Thats mean OP. Just be polite and next time wave. Why does it bother u so much? Its her home she can stand in her window all day if she likes. Every time i would walk home this old man would sit at the window all day he had a family but it was just his routine i would wave at him and the odd times he ventured out i would speak to him i felt sad when he died, but yeh just be polite your post comes across as childish

Lets face it, its much better than someone with a telescope.
Ufff wat faan to be had. You and your family could pretend to have someone over and pretend murder them, taking out pieces of the body in bags. Have the guest sneak out some other way. Basically watch the Hitchcock classic Rear Window. Turn lemons into lemonade and all that yeah.

What if she's a ghost Slims. Sending a note could end up in a Paranormal activity scenario.

The problem lies with you, not with her.
Seems like a case of a lonely elderly person whose only contact with the outside world is by looking out of the window. I see such old people everyday and my heart goes out to them. Just noticing them and smiling at them brightens up their faces.
So don't even think of 'politely' telling her to seclude herself even more, whether by an anonymous note or directly.
And how can she even see everything you buy? Don't you put your purchases in bags or whatever?

Next time she is looking and u get annoyed. Remind yourself tht could be someone close to u one day, how would u want ppl to treat them? it works.

I agree with you that she is not mental and she has no life. HOWEVER…on the flip side, you also have no life if you have so much time/energy to spend thinking about something so stupid. That lady has no life b/c she's old and alone. What's your reason?
