Funny how many people's parents are against them getting pierced and that just leads them to wanting to do it more. Mine were quite happy to let me get second holes in my ears when I was young, which I still use for pretty studs. (Personally I think any more than two begins to look a bit much). However, they said no to nose, so for that I just waited patiently until I was an adult. No big deal.
Aww, @Muzna , that is the sweetest thing ever. Your mom sounds amazing. And I notice a lot of you like the ring-style studs. I dont know why but I have a feeling they'd make me look odd.
And Sara, why dont you get a SUPER-tiny stud? The kind that is so faint and subtle? There are also studs which are flesh-colored for the exact station you're in. I wouldn't feel like myself if I had to remove mine. >.<

I know, right?! My parents were surprisingly always okay with piercings. They were even okay w/ my tattoo (but that's another story, ahem). My mom took me to get my cartilage done when I was 12 and let me get 2 more piercing above my lobe-piercing as well. My mom has a 2nd piercing above her lobe as well + her nose. She too wears a tiny stud and it looks GORGEOUS!
I put my nose pin in again..after reading this thread, lol. I just get the fake diamond ones from Claire's. I've never worn a real diamond one, but does it really make much of a difference? Is the real diamond dramatically more sparkly than the fake one...and tend to look better?
I really want to get mine pierced but as silly as this sounds, i'm afraid of how much it'll hurt :(
I'm like the biggest chicken when it comes to needles and stuff like this. But when I got it done..I found it hurt less than getting my ear lobes pierced. Trust me...it happens so quickly...that you don't have time to panic. Your heart will be beating fast and then when it's done you're gonna be like "That was it?" The fear tends to be much bigger than the actual ordeal. I wanted to get mine done since I was 15...but because I was scared I delayed it for the next several years...and when i did get it done...I thougt it wasn't a big deal and could have been done sooner, lol. I think it would look pretty on you.

Yay! And I find it doesn't really make a difference in the appearance BUT a diamond one lasts practically forever. My other CZ crystals would go green after a while and not look shiny or sparkly, rather kinda' dull in fact. Mine is really small, it's made of gold and has a diamond at the top, it's flat from the end (screws closed) and the diamond-part itself is really flat which makes it look really subtle and not super-noticable.
And Marwah, don't be scared! It literally feels like a quick pinch and a lot of people get ONE tear come out from their left eye and that's it. Guns are actually better for nose and lobes, IMO. Plus, I have a feeling it'll suit you as well, esp. w/ all the cool eye makeup you do.

Thanks RV :) that actually makes me feel better...but i'm afraid because I have very low pain tolerance. I just pinched my nose trying to get an idea of what it'll feel like it and it hurts so much I felt a pain my heart! How the heck do I ever get my nose pierced when I can't even take that?

Yeah.. a quick-I-might-faint-from-the-pain kinda pinch :( sigh....let's see, I do feel a bit more encouraged though thanks to you girls.
I don't have the guts and I think it looks lovely on other girls but wouldn't suit me..
Of course! Nose piercings are a part of Pakistani/Indian/Bengali/Tamil (desi, ahem) culture! My dadi tells me how waaaay back in the day double-nostrils were a "trend" and her dadi used to have one, LOL. They'd freak the cookie-baking dadis of today, that is for sure.
I even put a nose ring after reading this thread
I got it done back in 2009 ( I even remember the date )
Nobody wanted me to get it done, I had my 2nd ear piercing done the same day. And honestly my ears hurt me more than my nose.
I felt almost nothing for my nose
Later my dad bought me a diamond stud (and I lost it )
U guys have made me wanna listen to the song laung da lashkara...
My dad was strictly against any of his daughters getting any piercings (just 1 ear piercing) I got the second one done when I was out of high school and then got the nose piercing done while in the US coz dad said it didn't look nice on women working in the corporate arena. He has always bought ammi diamond nose pins as gifts yet he objected to getting mine done. Anyhow I didn't tell them and came back home wearing a nose ring. Long story short it got filled with puss and dad was even more mad at me but then he was the one who cut off the ring and put a neem ka thinka and made it all heal up.
I was hoping that my hubby would like nose studs as well but turns out he doesn't like them, he never told me that directly but once I asked him how come you don't do any tareef of my laung ka lashkara that is when he said he doesn't fancy them too much. After that I didn't really put a stud in my piercing.
I also used to wear the real tiny ones that are really sparkly.... I love those...
my fiance hates them too!!! he wont let me get it = i have a nice nose i think so i wana try it out but since he hates it im not even gona bother bc if i fall in love with it its gona b so hard not to wear it =/
That’s great. Now I gots a question for you. You familiar with that “laung gawacha” song…where the girl tells the guy that she lost her nose pin and asks him to help her find it. Why would he? It came from her nosey. Eeew. He must really like her, no?
