North Koreas leadership is showing off that they are delusional and dangerous. While their military shows off it’s incompetence.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- North Korea test-fired a long-range missile and five shorter-range rockets early Wednesday, but the closely watched long-range test failed within a minute, U.S. officials said.

Re: North Korea Taepodong-2 missile failes after 35 seconds
According to amreeka they all failed…LOL… what better way to feel better… Well atleast amreeka can now lobe couple missile towards shri lil kim and find out first hand… But I guess amreeka used up all its toys on Sudan…LOL…
The most hillarious part is that Shri noty lil Kim did all this on 4th of July
Re: North Korea Taepodong-2 missile failes after 35 seconds
What a wonderful development.
If you accept the fact that NK was going to test missles, then what is the best possible outcome. Six of the seven are antiquated SCUDs that are 40 year old Russian technology. No big deal. The one long range missle did not travel over Japan, and blew up after 42 seconds. (By the way, this would also be the first time frame where the US might be able to shoot the missle down. And if it was shot down wo you think the US would actually admit it, or would they watch the North Koreans get publically whipped?)
So the the 5 parties negociating with NK are galvanized, and proposing new sanctions to the Security Council.
Things could not be looking much better. And if you were Iran, would you pay for this quality equipment? How confident would you be in a missle purchased from NK?
Re: North Korea Taepodong-2 missile failes after 35 seconds
Don't take this as a dumb act. Americans can only take a sigh of relief that the long-range missile test by North Korea failed, which means they are not that advance with their weapons yet, but there are different messages.
North Korea by testing on the 4th of July is saying that (1) you can not ignore them (2) won't be put down by some international pressure (3) still the most dangerous regime....
This unilateral and reckless decision only makes the region more tense and the goal of peace even more difficult to accomplish.
What if, North Korea actually builds a missile that will cross the Pacific into the western United States? Better to deal with it now than later....
Re: North Korea Taepodong-2 missile failes after 35 seconds
Let's get a little perspective here. Most of these missles are less sophisticated that German V2 missles that bombarded London during WWII. Frankly the German engineering 60 years ago was probably better. Can NK put a nuke on top of these missles? Unlikely, even if they did, how worried are we about a handful of nukes?
The US faced thousands of missles in the hands of Soviets through the 1960's. Other than making Ohioguy dive under his school desk during the 1960's, we seemed to have weathered far bigger threats with little difficulty. Certainly the Pint-Sized-little-weasle-who-cannot-feed-his-own-country knows that all of North Korea will become highly polished glass if he launches anything at the US. Mutually Assured Destruction works.....
Re: North Korea Taepodong-2 missile failes after 35 seconds
OG, my perspective is not on the missile failing rather than intention. United States can not take solace on these failed missile tests. Just now, we found out how behind they are with their long-range weapon techonology, what guarantee can U.S give that they'll not pursue in the same direction?
The leader of North Korea is evil and is planning to build missile that will hit western United States, without showing any concern for his own people. For him just be able to get the news headlines by testing these missiles shows what kind of a reckless person he is...
Better is United States, directly of indirectly, deals with Kim right now rather than later. We would be having a very different discussion if the long-range missile test had reach it goal.
Re: North Korea Taepodong-2 missile failes after 35 seconds
Korea can't send a missile for a long distance without crossing the airspace of some other country with consequences. In 30 seconds the N-Korean engineers can determine flight and other factors and extrapolate the facts. I see no reason why N-Korea did maybe only load enough fuel to get the missiles to fly long enough and to expire before it cross into Japan's airspace.
Interesting to see how some people sneer so easily....
Re: North Korea Taepodong-2 missile failes after 35 seconds
So what do YOU think, Captain? Should China and the international community pressure North Korea to give up its nuclear ambitions? After all,

I wish them good luck next time. I am sure, they are gonna figure out soon. Besides, if 2 tests failed out of seven, they still have about 72 % success rate compared .
Re: North Korea Taepodong-2 missile failes after 35 seconds
It was more of an update as to what China thinks of current events. May be China wants NK to develop some threat for US as US continues to develop SK, Taiwan and India to counter China.
