I am definately a fan of hers, love her music and think she was diva in the true sense of the word.
What are your favorite songs of hers?
I havent seen much of her as an actress except few clips and i can’t believe how different she looked in her younger days. I prefered her in her mature age much better, she is definately someone who grew prettier as she aged and very gracefuly.
I heard her daughter heena got her looks but i have never seen her. Anyone seen her pics?. I think Zile-huma is very pretty and graceful like her mom :).
Noor Jahan was bossy, arrogant and non classy. I never liked her but totally lost respect when I heard that she pushed the producers and director of some movie to let her sing 'mera loung gawacha' in the movie, although the song got its fame from and belonged to Musarrat Nazir.
so maybe they have this thing running in family where all look prettier with age, haha. but no even in this pic u can tell that this girl is pretty she is just nt very well styled…

She did well for herself and has some good songs to her credit, but personally I feel there's many other Pakistani singers who sing with more grace and without all the "effort," or let's put it this way, who actually have an understanding of music...examples: Tina Sani, Nayarra Noor.

C'mon TLK every one does that even lata did that , she declared that she would no longer sing with Rafi , just over some royalty payments issue ] and luckily through out her long lasting career , Madam Noor Jehan was always in position to sing on her terms and conditions ...
In an era when singing Faiz Ahmed 's kalam was banned over national Radio - she didnt give in to Military dictators and sang Faiz at many public functions ... so what does it make her - Revolutionary ?
Once Invited to Dhaka for a State function - where she sang for hours - for whom ? Not for the state's guests only but also for the people working at that hotel where she stayed ... she did a private function for them - humanitarian innit ?
we should focus on her singing ability and music knowledge rather then bringing such issue in light ... she was a true melody queen and the biggest singing star Pakistan has ever had - you know there are two Noor Jehan in the history books...One was queen of a king. she got Taj mahal.
And the second is the queen of hearts. Our Malka-e-Taranum Noor jehan - After she sang ' Muj se phele mohabat mere mehboob na manG ' - Faiz stopped reciting that poem at gatherings - and when ever people ask'd him - he always used to say ' Listen it from Noor Jehan as now it belongs to her ' ....

I have never heard any one singing better thumri and khyal then her - May be Iqbal Bano or fareeda Khanum could match her in Ghazal singing but Tina or nayaarra , they arent even in her league ...
