why are they not allowed to see the kaba and masjid- e nabwi in medina?! its gorgeous and beautifully made. dont u think people will be more impressed if they actually get to visit that place. get to see the amazing view of non-stop tawaf at kaba from the roof top? see the unity of prayers being performed in a single line where the king stands beside the begger?
y the hell dont they let non muslims visit those places? give them a tour of all the historical places where the islamic battles occured.. jannat-ul-baqi and all the other mosques and mountains? i think people can gain better knowledge of islam and its history if they wud be allowed to see these places.
the other day my best friend was telling me about all these beautiful temples in india and how people from all over the world come and see it. i wished i could say the same to her and show her the beauty and historical land of my religion as well!
were people not allowed to visit these places at Prophet’s (p.b.u.h) time? or is it just another stupid phenomenon created by idiotic saudi government?
The ruling is based on the occassion of the conquest of Makkah and the revealation of certain ayaahs of Surah Tauba that clearly stated that non-muslims were not allowed in the area and the area is now considered the Hijaaz which consists of Madina, Makkah, Taaif and the surrounding areas.
It’s the command of Allah in Quran that is being followed since 8th Hijrah when Muhammad:saw: was alive and as a sunnah must be followed regardless of whatever sound reasoning be presented.
can't they make a seperate highway or bridge or something so they can just look around from there only and not be allowed.. it doesnt make sense though.
it just seems like that we are trying to hide something from everyone. are we?
Quran 9:28 O ye who believe! The idolaters only are unclean. So **let them not come near the Masjid-ul-Haram after this their year*. If ye fear poverty (from the loss of their merchandise) Allah shall preserve you of His bounty if He will. Lo! Allah is Knower, Wise. *
clear instructions from Quran cannot be changed....
yaar suroor KABA AND MADINA MOSQUES r not for tafreeh purpose..and also it is not allowed in islam for any muslim to enter there so not question regarding tht and another aspect is christians and jews will find it good opportunity to strike at these great places...so islamic rulings r clear regarding this..even islam says not to make jews and christs friends,so how it could be allowed for non muslims to enter such precious places?

Beauty of Islam lies in its Belief system and not in the beauty of its architecture - however beautiful it may be. In Prophet’s time these structures were very very simple but the people joined Islam in throngs because the beauty of its message.

Ask your friend, “how many of these people visiting the temples” converted to Hinduism after having seen the beautiful temple?

Give your friend a good translation of holy Quran and let her see the beauty of Islamic beliefs. And if she sees the 'light', all these places are open to her.
I agree with you about the Holy Cities of Makkah and Madina, because I know for sure that they have checkposts manned by Police/Army who check Iqamas, Passports and other ID’s, to verify and make sure only Muslims enter the two holy Cities.
I dont think Taif and the surrounding areas, fall in the same category, I have been to Taif, it was a long time ago 1987, so maybe my memory is fading, but I do not remember any restrictions for entering Taif.

Can you please correct me if I am wrong?.

Yes, you are right, the city of Taif is not part of the Haram area. Areas included within around 20 kilometers radius around Makkah and Madinah are the exclusively Muslim-only areas.
I think it's a great idea...It'll be great for business...McDonald's and Pizza Huts can open up around, some hotels and motels, some tourist outlets, little gift shops where you can buy little Kaaba memorabilia made of wood and T-shirts that say "My mom went to Makkah and all I got was this lousy T-shirt"...
Reminds me of what happened to Lhasa, the forbidden city...It's now a tourist attraction...
Makkah and Madina are not tourist spots where people from around the world can come and see Muslims worship and then go stay in a motel with their girl/boy friends and have sex...There is a reason why Hajj and Umrah can only be performed with a Mehram...These are things which only a Muslim can observe, understand and keep holy...The Kuffar has nothing holy and does not recognize anything as holy...Once they come anywhere, the sanctity of that place is automatically raped...The farther they are from those places the better...

Taaif is definitely not part of Haram but it is part of Hijaaz.
And as far as I remember last time i was there, the whole hijaaz included the area where non-muslims were not allowed.

So is this something new since 1987, because I am 100% positive at that time there was no restriction whatsoever, for Non Muslims to enter or to pass thru Taif.
In Surah Tauba, the word 'Mushrik' i.e. idolaters is used. Jews or Christians are not called Mushrekeen by Holy Quran. Should they be allowed to enter kaba or not?
Mr. Fatehahmad. Dont Jews believe that Hazrat Uzair was the son of God and dont Christians believe that Jesus was the son of God. Chiristians of Old may have believed in the Oneness of Allah(swt) but how many of those Christians will you find today --- None.

Ignorant Christians (Americans, left handed people, ) could come up with just as many ignorant reasons to keep Muslims away from places they deem "Holy" or otherwise "off limits". This thread and the thread "Reasons for Muslims downfall" are very related. If only the blind could see.
lajjo..they already have huge hilton hotel right infront of kaba and madina mosque. they also have mcdonalds and motels n stuff where people do go and have sex and do other crap. i have been there lot of times and thats how i know.
