hmmm....I might not sign just to avoid having my name associated with something that Tarek has initiated.....
having said that......reading Shero's comments is truly disturbing.
Exactly what I was gonna say. It would be nice for her to win the nobel prize but I don't want to associate myself with idiots like Tarek fatah and irshad manji. That fatah is a real dumbass and as such is loved by other dumbasses AKA conservative talk show hosts.
Am I the only one who thinks that this is going too far? I mean a nomination for Nobel Peace Prize, really? Why?
Well she deserves it more than recent laureates. Besides, the peace prize is a joke. A political statement really.
No, we should give Noble Peace Prize to Mullah Omer & Mullah Radio for killing 1000s people using brainwashed kids.
Mullah Omar will get award the highest award a human can get love of ALLAH and his RASOOL SAW for defending Islam and Muslims for fighting their cause and not becoming tout of USA to get dollars and Nobel Peace Price
^ I can't believe that someone can actually support talibans for killing innocent people and this is not enough also predicting that they will get love of Allah and Rasool.

I support Taliban for finishing forces of kufr who have occupied Muslim lands because that is compulsory on Muslims I never support attack on civilians not even kafirs
People who have got the Peace Prize in the past didn't have a lobby to petition for their award ... They were just given it ...
Look at Peace as a concept ... My archetype for Peace amongst the people of the Ummah is Sayyidina Hassan (RA) ... The grandson of the Prophet (SAW) ... He gave up his right to Caliphate in order to secure the reduction of bloodshed and violence.
It appears this model is not the same ... Not even for Malala ... Her actions have enraged the Taliban rightly or wrongly ... But she is not the symbol of Peace ... She is the symbol of resistance ... For a just cause ... But not for peace!

Peace Shero
Today you live in another world ... A world where your words carry weight. Use wisdom and balance rather than fiery passion to get your point across and people may listen.
........anyhoo, sympathy is one thing and rational is a totally diff thing people. When you award someone with a peace prize, medal of bravery, honorary PHD degree or somthing of that sort, you should look at the facts and not the emotions.
True.
She already got a medal from the Government of Pakistan before this incident and she deserved it.
Nobel prize is normally given for efforts over extended periods of time by people who really made significant positive impact on our lives. Okay, maybe not Obama.

Yes negative impact on Muslims and good impact on forces of kufr
By all means, have a 'Muslim Nobel Peace Prize' sponsored by a rich Muslim guy giving out prizes for Muslims who positively impact Muslim lives.
Oh wait, the rich Muslim guy would rather spend on his Latina girlfriend, Italian car, French mansion and Norwegian cruise liner trips.
Muslim rich guys give a lot of charity.....just google prince talal's contributions.
It's not nice to compare the best of the non-Muslims with the worst of the Muslims.
My archetype for the Muslim peace prize ... From amongst the followers in this Ummah has to be Sayyiduna Hassan (RA) ... He gave up his Caliphate to secure the end of bloodshed and violence.
It was an act where he let go of his right in order for peace.
Malalas case is different ... She has not just been secretly educating herself, but she has spoken out against her opponents. It is an act of resistance ... It is a just cause ... But it is not an act of peace.
^ I am just saying that Shero's insistence that Nobel Peace Prize committee does not consider 'Muslim' contributions to peace good enough to be awarded a prize is ironic. If decisions of the committee are always biased, he shouldn't be bothered about them at all.
If you are so obsessed with the religion of people who get the prize and you want to recognize contributions of Muslims, better have a peace prize institution for yourself and do whatever you want with it.
...so have one of them to initiate a Muslim Prize (specially for economics) and forget about unIslamic Nobel Prize.
Its better to do some work than give price and Muslims have started working now on how to establish Islamic economic system work is slow but soon will gain speed
I am deeply concerned with what has happened to Malala … She has been used like a puppet by her own father and the West media machine … All she wants is to have trouble free schooling for girls … But she has been demanding this in the wrong way - a way that would inevitably mean that she becomes a target and also in a way that would nearly definitely ensure that it would not happen.
She used threatening language against the Taliban, presenting no argument forward from an Islamic point of view explaining WHY education for women is important. She could have done this … It is not her fault - she was under direction of her politically polarised father. She could have said …
“Leaders of the Taliban - I call on you in the name of Allah and send salutations on the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) … I pray that you hear me with tawfiq from Allah (SWT) and are sensitive to my plea … For such and such a reason {and then cites various ahadith} it is important to be true to Islam that we are allowed rather promoted to educate ourselves - so we can ensure an educated ummah. Please listen to my plea and if you listen to it you will be given the support from the people of this region”
But she didn’t say that …
She practically appealed to Pakistan and the West inciting a campaign against the Taliban because they blow up girl schools … that will obviously cause them to react - knowing what they are like - (if we accept the hype) - and that would further the cause of continued violence in the region - not reduce it …
