Nobel Peace Prize for Malala

Re: Nobel Peace Prize for Malala

Well, all your type has done is to give bad name to Islam, Muslims & Pakistan. Shooting school going girls, beheading people, & defending terrorist Taliban isn't Islamic either.

Re: Nobel Peace Prize for Malala

Mullahs are scared of educated women & likes of Malala represent best of future, humanity, progresses that jahails cannot stand.

Re: Nobel Peace Prize for Malala

suggestion for Shero…
how about you work on cleaning up Pakistan first?
get rid of the ills listed below and then we can talk about the rest of the world.

Lust or lechery (carnal “luxuria”) is an intense desire. It is usually thought of as excessive sexual wants, however the word was originally a general term for desire. Therefore lust could involve the intense desire of money, fame, or power as well.

Gluttony derived from the Latin gluttire, meaning to gulp down or swallow, gluttony (Latin, gula) is the over-indulgence and over-consumption of anything to the point of waste. Gluttony can be interpreted as selfishness; essentially placing concern with one’s own interests above the well-being or interests of others.

Greed (Latin, avaritia), also known as avarice or covetousness, is, like lust and gluttony, a sin of excess. However, greed (as seen by the church) is applied to a very excessive or rapacious desire and pursuit of material possessions. As defined outside of Christian writings, greed is an inordinate desire to acquire or possess more than one needs, especially with respect to material wealth.

Sloth (Latin, Socordia) can entail different vices. While sloth is sometimes defined as physical laziness, spiritual laziness is emphasized. Failing to develop spiritually is key to becoming guilty of sloth. Sloth has also been defined as a failure to do things that one should do. By this definition, evil exists when good men fail to act.

Wrath (Latin, ira), also known as “rage”, may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. Wrath, in its purest form, presents with self-destructiveness, violence, and hate that may provoke feuds that can go on for centuries. Wrath may persist long after the person who did another a grievous wrong is dead. Feelings of anger can manifest in different ways, including impatience, revenge, and vigilantism.

Like greed and lust, Envy (Latin, invidia) is characterized by an insatiable desire. Envy is similar to jealousy in that they both feel discontent towards someones traits, status, abilities, or rewards. The difference is the envious also desire that entity and covet it.

Envy can be directly related to the Ten Commandments, specifically “Neither shall you desire… anything that belongs to your neighbour”. Dante defined this as “a desire to deprive other men of theirs.” In Dante’s Purgatory, the punishment for the envious is to have their eyes sewn shut with wire because they have gained sinful pleasure from seeing others brought low. Aquinas described envy as “sorrow for another’s good”.

In almost every list, Pride (Latin, superbia), or hubris (Greek), is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and the source of the others. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to acknowledge the good work of others, and excessive love of self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God).

Re: Nobel Peace Prize for Malala

Am I the only one who thinks that this is going too far? I mean a nomination for Nobel Peace Prize, really? Why?

Re: Nobel Peace Prize for Malala

^ TLK, it is because you are thinking with your own mind, and haven't been brainwashed by the media yet. Sorry brother, you have to watch CNN, BBC, Fox, geo, express, dunya...etc. for at least 16 more hours in order to make such news digestable for your mind.

Re: Nobel Peace Prize for Malala

no. you are not alone.

Re: Nobel Peace Prize for Malala

Thank lord that I do not have Cable of Dish at home

I think I should’ve read the thread before posting my ‘am I the only one’ comment :hehe:

anyhoo, sympathy is one thing and rational is a totally diff thing people. When you award someone with a peace prize, medal of bravery, honorary PHD degree or somthing of that sort, you should look at the facts and not the emotions.

Re: Nobel Peace Prize for Malala

I think the whole Malala issue has been insanely exaggerated. I do feel sorry for her , she is a kid and has been targeted and shot by taliban just because she stood up for her right but my sympathy for her is only as much as I would feel for any other Pakistani or any other kid being brutally targetted by Taliban.

I mean hundreds of innocent people have been killed by Talibaan , so many women and children have been killed in drone attacks in Pakistan , so there lives were not as important as Malala's just because they did not get the insane media coverage.

In my opinion the people doing Malala Malala Malala should come to senses now , more than enough has been done for this girl now please concentrate on other innocent men , women and children who are suffering due this terrorism directly or indirectly.

Noble peace prize candidates should be people like Abdul Sattar Edhi , Selani , Ansar Burni & Imran Khan who have really worked hard to serve people just for the sake of humanity and not for money or other materialistic things and if God forbid something happens to them it would be a great loss to the people of Pakistan.

I know majority of you would disgaree with me but living in Pakistan seeing the suffering and living under the threat that I might become the target of terrorism any day I think the Malala issue has just been insanely exaggerated.

Re: Nobel Peace Prize for Malala

Why not?

Re: Nobel Peace Prize for Malala

We need to highlight issue of those people to who are killed in drone attacks and American bombings
