I'm all for women's rights, and there are a few who do go out of the way of islam.
To label all of them as "mullahs", people need to get their definition straight!
Never occured to anyone why we had to feel Allah's wrath in the form of an acute earthquake in the first place?

How many mountain men do you personally know? How many mountain men do you know who don;t give a rat’s ass if a woman needed medical attention? How many mountain men have you talked to? How many years have you lived with them? How many times have seen mountain women give birth on the dirt floor?
That’s right…You haven’t…All your knowledge, experience, wisdom and background regarding mountain men is what comes to you from the TV…I bet you weren’t even born in Pakistan…
Your knowledge comes from the same source that every illiterate gets his knowledge and wisdom from…The media…
And the media is the same media that tells you that Islam is the root cause of all evil…
Good…That is the best and most authentic source of information in the world…No one can be ignorant listening to those words of wisdom…

Ask any mod-Muslim here who criticises scholars, what are the basics of Hajj, or what are the miracles of the Quran, what Hadith is said for when, what are the rules of marriage…
They woudn’t know…They’d go running to their closest scholar…But once their back is turned, they turn against the religious people and curse them…

If I read correctly, the reason why the locals are against them in that area is because of their behavior that seems obscene to the people that live there, not because they are women. The relief agency must respond to it appropriately whether it is true or false.

Uh oh, methinks I’ve hit a nerve there. Are you one of the mountain men I speak of, all hotheaded and riled up? 
Any opinion I have of mountainous people does not come from western media–I don’t trust western media. However, I do keep up with Pakistani media and news sources, as well as I put weight on my own experiences. You and I know both know these particular people are obsessed with sex. Not necessarily the act, but sexualizing everyone and everything. All I said was that it’s shameful that in such a catastrophe, their minds are concentrating on skirt length, and not rehabilitation. These are the same men who consider it shameful if their wife were to see a male doctor in an emergency. You and I both know that, and their actions are well documented in YOUR birthplace and home country. Or are you going to tell me that the reporters from Dawn, Jang, the Nation, etc, and volunteers from various NGO’s are just a bunch of liars and that YOU’RE the only sane person around?

Calm down, there. These people aren't prohets! They're open to criticsim. Scholars aren't always correct, and there's certainly a difference between a scholar and an average mullah. We have a right to call them up on their mistakes. As far as the "basics" go, most of us are very capable of picking up a book and finding the answers as we navigate through life. It ain't rocket science, and Allah swt never demanded a clergy for us like the Catholics have.

what do u mean by an ‘average’ mullah …these ppl spend their whole life to learn about islam and they are not like some stupid scholers from west who just read few books in a year or 2 and tell their new version of islam:halo: …an average mullah is more educated then most pakistanis or muslim in general ..they aren,t some stupid ppl who don,t have knowledge about their surrounding:) …most religious ppl(pakistani) i have met were more intelligent and educated then an average pakistani i have met and i am talking about pakistani living in west so they aren,t that backward or evil like u ppl make them out to be :halo: …ofcourse ulemas make mistake but that doesn,t give u green light to curse them:) …

I think the Muslim scholars of the west are far more educated than the many of the ones in Pakistan. They are the ones who have spent years at respected Islamic institutions. They are learned both in secular and in religious studies and are thereby more lucid and well rounded. They present their opinions with solid textual references so that any layperson could also look up the answer. That’s not to say that there aren’t worthy scholars in Pakistan, but I’m not talking about those people. However, I will criticize those mullahs who have led their followers astray–with their calls for violence, their sexual abuse, etc.
Of course the average mullah is more educated than most Pakistanis, but that’s not saying much considering over 50% of the population is totally illiterate and uneducated. So it’s truly a case of the deaf leading the blind…

Every religious book is written by a religious person…And there is no clergy in Islam I agree…
However, to become knowledgable about religion, one must seek and attain a teacher…
Can you be a surgeon just by reading books? Can you be an engineer just by having read books? Or do you need a teacher to guide you…
These teachers are our religious people, the ones you curse…
And whenever an ignorant Mod-Muslim curses or abuses a scholar, it’s equal to a student of medicine cursing his teacher for something that he does not agree with…
And when you disrespect a teacher of any subject it means you are very ignorant of the subject the teacher is a master in…
And in Islam, the first sign of irrefutable ignorance is when a person abuses, mocks, insults and curses another Muslim or a religious person…

And where did you see the word or concept secular presented anywhere here?
The point of this article is, they’re trying to forbid (or have already) women aid workers, no matter what. Now what if a female victim needed help or medical attentiON? nobody answered my question, if a female victim needed help and/or medical attention, who is going to give it to her? I’m assuming that many women of that region would NOT be comfortable or okay with going to a male doctor, nor would anyone permit it. So basically unless there’s female workers to help them, these people who are banning female aid workers will be responsible for the death of countless women who are being denied any help.
