No Sleeves

Re: No Sleeves

my flabby arms agree with the majority of guppans, that and I get cold easily.

Re: No Sleeves

i wear sleeveless at home but only in front of hubby. never worn outside or in front of others. no one in our fam' wears sleeveless outside. loads of my friends wear them though. i always wonder how their fam's let them. but i don't judge them. i just get curious. but of course its their choice.

but i think some outfits look so gorgeous sleeveless.

Re: No Sleeves

Its sad to see that a lot of people have said that sleevveless should be worn only by people with thin, toned arms. Its the obsession with thiness esp. in cas eof desis that makes me sad. In the West, they have people like Queen latifah as aspokesperson for Covergirl. Yes, such people are few and far in between but I don't see even one such person in Pakistan. I also see Western magzines with makeovers of plus size women and they favor sleeveless as oppossed to cap sleeves that make teh arms even bigger.

That said, I liek the look of sleeveless clothes but haven't mustered teh courage to wear them yet. Its highly unlikely that I shall.

what’s so bad about showing arms? :konfused:

Re: No Sleeves

for me it depends on the cloth/material and ofcourse design of the dress

i have no problem in wearing sleeveless

Re: No Sleeves

OMG, my arms are disgustingly flabby and untoned right now!

Re: No Sleeves

i dont like sleeveless..i just dont feel comfartable..i did wear it few times but then i dont feel confartable with it so dont wear it anymore

Re: No Sleeves

I have this fabulous dress by Hajra Hayat…that’s the only sleeveless I own…other than that I am not too fond of sleeveless…

It looks even better in real…I just love the coppery brown toned embellishments… :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: No Sleeves

if i wore sleeveless my mom would probably have me assassinated

Re: No Sleeves

Yes.

:omg: same here!

Re: No Sleeves

they look really gay sometimes! : D

Re: No Sleeves

Sleeveless is not an option for me. But even if I could wear them, I wouldn't unless I had very toned arms. I used to wear short sleeves but for all my shaadi outfits, I have made all sleeves elbow length or longer. I think that even to wear 5-inch sleeves, you should have toned arms. Otherwise, it's just as bad as wearing a short blouse with a flabby tummy.

Re: No Sleeves

i honestly dont' know..i dont think my husband would mind it...for me its not a question of morals but esthetics...hmmm

Re: No Sleeves

I dont think so I would ever wear sleeveless.

Re: No Sleeves

It has always been a mystery for me why some women think sleeveless is indecent but having sleeves just three inches down the shoulders makes it okay.

I guess somehow sleeveless make's the person's wearing arms look longer.

same is here lol

Re: No Sleeves

^^ maybe because that 3 inches hide your armpits....

Re: No Sleeves

A lot of females in Pakistan now wear sleaveless, and not only sleaveless but spaghetti straps etc. It is much more common in Karachi than Lahore I have noticed. Infact, it is now not uncommon for females to wear sleaveless in the workplace, again more so in Karachi than Lahore.
And I totally agree, how does 2 inches of cloth running down your arm make any difference?
I have noticed it is actually the overseas Pakistani community that is slow to adopt the sleaveless concept rather than people living in Pakistan.
What people need to realise is that some designs look good if they are sleaveless (ie there is such a motif on the body of the shirt that you need to show extra skin to balance it out). Unfortunately, a lot of designers have to forego their vision and attatch sleaves to outfits that really should not have them.

And if you have flabby arms that are untoned so what? If I was a girl I would wear sleaveless if the heat outside was 42 degrees, regardless what anyone else thought.
