Since it’s such a trend in Pakistan, how many of you have actually adopted it? I am seeing more and more Pakistani girls picking up thir trend. Not saying there’s anything wrong with it, but is your family ok with it? I don’t know if I could ever wear anything that’s sleeveless but some desi outfits look so gorgeous without sleeves. I am not too comfortable without sleeves. Just wondering, is it really that common now to wear a sleeveless desi kameez?
Re: No Sleeves
i dont like sleeveless shirts...i would never wear them...
Re: No Sleeves
Nope, would never wear sleeveless... be it eastern or western clothes... just wouldn't feel comfortable in it.
Re: No Sleeves
i dont think its very common here yet but i personally think yes, it kind of not sit well with our people so i would not wear it. I want to wear it BUT my family wont allow me and i personally wont feel comfortable even wearing it knowing the enviornment n people around.
Re: No Sleeves
^agree with all! I am not comfortable with sleeveless outfits and would never wear them.
If you have nice toned arms it looks nice (different occassions).. i'm not a fan though.
Re: No Sleeves
It takes away from the beauty of the outfit IMO. Sleeves make and outfit look so much more graceful, but I guess to each their own.
^ I agree, sleeves look much classier than sleeveless.
Re: No Sleeves
i wont wear sleeveless ever… but may be keep a dress or two to wear at home only, that too not in front of father or brother
only infront of him ![]()
Re: No Sleeves
No...I would feel too self concious.
Re: No Sleeves
Unless my arms are super toned and look chiseled...no sleeveless for me. Although I see it A LOT in our desi community now.
I believe clothes should bring out your best assets...if you can feel your arms moving...chances are people can see them moving. :(
Re: No Sleeves
Even at my slimmest i have chunky arms..so no never..
and FAMILY would kill me first. so i guess chunky arms are my excuse...
Re: No Sleeves
I do wear sleevless shalwar kameez. There are always a few paindos in the family who have to be funny about it but who cares it's not as if i'll be marrying any of their sons or brothers. I wear what I want to as long as MY parents are happy with it. My parents are really cool they let me wear anything I want to.
Re: No Sleeves
My arms are nice and toned :) (LOTS of hard work at the gym - no pain no gain, eh??!!) but I am still not comfortable with wearing sleeveless... don't like really short sleeves either... nothing wrong with it but I just feel self conscious....
My sis-in-law on the other hand does wear very little sleeves or practically sleeveless tops....
With me, it's not about my parents or family having a problem with it (they're really chilled) but it's about me having a problem with it....
Re: No Sleeves
never... dont like them personally and family wont let me either!
Re: No Sleeves
Noo way my family would never let me wear sleeveless salwaar kameez OR western clothing. My mother especially is really adamant on the fact that an outfit MUST have sleeves...even if they are really tiny, sleeves MUST be there.
Even if I had the option to wear sleeveless though, I wouldn't. That's just how iv'e been brought up.
Re: No Sleeves
I might wear them if my family was okay, I'm sure they wouldn't pull a big deal but they wouldn't be very pleased. I guess I'm not into them so I never bothered working out a way to wear them. But I do agree, with the new trend of long, loose kameezes, sleeveless looks awesome!
Re: No Sleeves
^ Yeah, I love long sleeves! Though there are desi outfits that look gorgeous without sleeves but I won't be too comfortable wearing them.
Re: No Sleeves
i dont wear them n would never like too...........but i m seeing around that many paki brides r wearing full sleeves wth long shirts.......but the guests r wearing sleevless.........its common now..........
