No Sleeves

It has always been a mystery for me why some women think sleeveless is indecent but having sleeves just three inches down the shoulders makes it okay.

I’m suprised it’s such a big deal today. If you look back at pictures from Karachi and Lahore in the 1960’s, it seems like every guest at every formal event was dressed in a saree with a sleeveless blouse. How is it that 50 years later, it’s just starting to come back in style?

Exactly, Fatima Jinnah always wore a sleeveless blouse w/ her saris. I think back then Pakistan was a lot more liberal, elegant, sophisticated and not judgemental. sigh
