Well if there is no sex … then the “need” for sex would also be absent … and where there is no need - there no desire to do … Effort is expended by humans to fulfil their needs, sex is seen as a distraction but it is often seen as a motivator to succeed.

Why get loads of money, fast car, fame, etc … ??? Most people who do would answer in order to maximise their chances to get the best woman … that means sex.

To get these things effort is required in other areas … if the motivator was not there then why would they put the effort in?

… On the philosophical side … we would just channel our energies in other things and compete in other ways … it could well make no difference at all.

ok, I get this much >> … sex is a need, don’t look at it as a distraction … It can be a great motivator for getting things (done) in other areas of life.

But then you lost me there a little. When you say that the motivation for sex makes us do things in other areas of life as well (money and honey stuff), are you saying sex is the ultimate/biggest motivator for us to do things in most (if not all) areas of life. … because that would bring us to a paradox of sex being the ultimate motivator as well as the biggest ‘distraction’ in life at the same time.

I’m just not clear on your use of the words “other areas”.
