According to the Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazhar ul Haq no new (public sector) university will be allowed in Hyderabad as that would be a conspiracy against Jamshoro University. I believe his fear stems from the fact that Jamshoro is near Hyderabad, but wouldn’t it be better if there are two universities in the area? Not only will the intake of students be doubled, but also the quality imparted to the students improve due to competition. Some times I wonder what kind of buffoons are ruling the country?
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has called on people to hold peaceful protest against what he said provocative remarks by Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazharul Haq.
Talking to workers of party’s Hyderabad Zonal Committee he said the people were saddened by the statement. Mr Hussain asked the workers not to damage public or private property during protest.
He said that it was MQM’s agenda to provide the poor and middle class with education and jobs, vowing that universities would be established in all the cities of the country if the MQM was given opportunity.
Pir Mazharul Haq on Saturday said that he would not let anybody set up a public sector university in Hyderabad and branded all such efforts in this regard a conspiracy against Sindh University Jamshoro.
Pir Mazhar denied and said , he is in favor of more than one universities in Hyderabad . Pir Sahib Altaf and his party is trying to create ethnic hype for the coming elections , so the votes in Sindh will go on ethnic bases in Sindh and PPP is happy on this , We are discussing the same in Sindh Government quashes cases against Amn Committee

I think if they improve the existing Sindh university, it can fulfill need of students from Hyderabad as well. They should build universities in distant parts of the province, if MQM and PPP are that serious about education.
same goes for PPP as well, they’ll also go to their electorate and tell them that they didnt allow the local government system to be implemented and the cases against the lyari mafia removed.

Pasha JI, it probably is news for you that most votes in Sindh ALREADY go on the basis of ethnicity. So this argument doesn’t hold water.
(In fact, votes go on the basis all over Pakistan, including south Punjab AND Bahawalpur).
The media did report this statement from mazharul Haq. But now he says that he was misquoted.

All I see as a neutral person (who has nothing to do with PPP or MQM) that both parties have got nothing to show to their electorates hence again reverting to ethnic politics. As that's one thing which has always delivered. The people of Karachi will at some stage have to rise above ethnic politics if they want the city to develop and march forward.
Pir Mazhar ul Haq ( idiot) also told students that someone from MQM (another idiot) asked him ‘Peer sahib yaad rakhe Sindh Assembly Karachi main hain’ and Pir of Idiots replied ’ aap bhi yaad rakhen Karachi Sindh main hai’. This all shows what they are playing
