If Fourth Amendment applies only to United States citizen than it is correct. Otherwise, these government officials are breaking the law. I have another question, what happens in 2009? We all know it is either Giuliani, Clinton or Obama and all of them have promised to give these people path to citizenship. So right now they are threat to society, until further notice?
no one here is saying they are a threat to society, although one can go on and talk about the load healthcare and education is facing due to illegals.
Until a path to citizenship is established, they are illegal. and even having the path to citizenship does not mean everyone will get there, some may some may not. so its incorrect to assume that all illegals will become citizens.
so if and when there is a process in place that provides a path for these people who broke the laws as they entered the country or overstayed, then a discussion can take place.
and as far as illegals going to college..great as if putting the pressure on k-12 was not enough to provide free education, bilingual instruction etc.
