Today when I got to work, I was walking towards the entrance just about 5 steps behind a Pakistani guy who also works here. When he got to the door, he opened it enough just for himself, and let it slam in my face! He totally saw me walking behind him! When white guys see me walking towards the door, even if I am still a distance away, they wait and hold the door.
Why do Pakistani men have no manners, or treat women as second class citizens???
Bus Pakistani men ko phansi charaa do ..aray baba just because one idiot failed to show manners does not mean that all Pakistanis are like that.
Its like I watch Nargis ka mujra vidoe on youtube (that I never watched btw, ahem) and generalize that why all pakistani females are so behooda and vulgar.
^ I have to agree with TLK - pretty foolish to make generalizations about a group of people.
If the actions of one represent the whole then based on this thread itself, people would be free to say:
Why can't Pakistani women hold open the door for themselves and why do they have a sense of entitlement that men must wait for them to hold open a door?
this isnt the first time I have seen behaviour like this from pakistani men. But you would think an educated person, such as the one that works at my office (its an engineering company, so you need to be
educated to work here) would have more sense than that.
And ok, fine, I wont generalize about pakistani men.....but why do some men have no manners, or treat women as second class citizens?

When some men had fight with their wife , girlfriend , mother , sister , sales clerk at the store , they generalize that all women are this one and treat all of them same way. To stereotype is human.

Ok i personally think its got nothing to do with Pakistani people alone, its just that some people never learn manners. I have seen alot of Pakistani guys holding door for the lady or offering her their seat, etc. However there are exceptions everywhere in the world.
as much this situation is embarrassing, its better to ignore such jerks.
some pakistani guys use these chichoray tactics to get attention. so its better to ignore them and be safe.
Thats funny, because here i have noticed that men who are holding doors, giving seat in bus, helping old ppl etc. are usually desimen or other foreigner men : D But like others said that u cant generalize, its just that u have bump into rude desimen and polite white men, but u can find rude guys and then also polite guys everywhere in every country and culture. We have to just wish that there is more those polite guys than rude : )

Must be a few folks here and there but lemme tell you, when I was a student, [many many manyyyyy years ago] what I observed was that Pakistani guys were way more polite and well mannered then other foreign stidents at the univ. Trust me on this judgement because I am not a Pakistani so I am not biased.
actually holding the door open for somebody is a mannerism native to the Western culture, you're so used to it living in a Western society(?) i'm guessing.
It never really got into the training bit here in Pakistan, everyone opens their own doors, except when there are servants around.
This was confirmed by a study i read on a similar topic.
First of all it has nothing to do with Pakistani men. I have seen many “gorey” (if thats who you envy) shutting door on people behind them.
Secondly, it happens sometimes that you are thinking about something and you dont notice that someone is behind you.
If someone is intentionally doing that off course its not good manner but again ager Pakistan guy opens and keep holding door for girls, many label them “chichora” trying to hit on’em.
Here is a little incident
I was calling a local Toronto restaurant for Eid day brunch booking. I talked to some lady on phone and after discussing and confirming the appointment I asked her name so I have a record who did I talked to she was like
“my name? (like she is annoyed and thinking I am trying to get “free” with her) I am MRS.Hameed”
