Engagement is a formal commitment to get married and to spend rest of your life with your fiance. How can I get engaged to someone whom I don’t even know properly? It sounds too risky and absurd, i can’t do it. This is not my way.
Plus you guys need to understand relationship before marriage doesn’t necessarily mean sex and romance only. It is important to develop understanding between the couple before they even think about getting engaged or married.
