India will buy American planes only if it is forced on us because of a package deal for getting US nuclear reactors and space technology which we really need.
Otherwise it is almost sure to be Mirage 2000-5 Mk2s with some customization similar to what was done for the UAE. The RDY-2 radar and perhaps SCALP standoff weapon and Mica BVRAAM.
