No Ashes thread?

khair,
Root

Re: No Ashes thread?

Lucky, was dropped on the second ball on duck. After that he played superbly. Haddin must be kicking himself.

Re: No Ashes thread?

that's part of the game!

Re: No Ashes thread?

Hopefully moin can continue today and make a good score.

Re: No Ashes thread?

Seems hard. I hope we at least hit 400+.

Re: No Ashes thread?

Moin hit some sizzling shots

Re: No Ashes thread?

Joe Root has been very consistent with the bat in both test and ODI since making his debut 3 years ago. He is already earmarked as a future England captain (after Cook)

Re: No Ashes thread?

When western countries play, it is always glass half full. If an inning is high scoring, the batsmen get accolades. When that happens with Asian countries it is bad bowling. (Thats not to say there is indeed bad bowling in some asian countires)There is something unwritten about how matches are covered.

I hear the pitch didn't have much to offer the bowlers.

Got a kick out of Haddin dropping a catch

Re: No Ashes thread?

True they usu. put it down to slow and flat pitches in the sub-continent

But there are some pretty flat pitches in England as well barring Headingley (Leeds), Old Trafford (Manchester) and Trentbridge (Nottingham)

Lords and esp. Oval are full of runs. Pakistan’s 2nd highest test score of 708 is at The Oval in 1987

Re: No Ashes thread?

At the moment England looks like in the driving seat.

Re: No Ashes thread?

We're gonna win! (Hopefully)

Re: No Ashes thread?

It is still early days in the Ashes and Aussies are known for their never-say-die attitude but 412 looks daunting

And some people were hyping them in the build up to the Ashes

Re: No Ashes thread?

I will probably watch them at Edgbaston on a saturday or Sunday.

Mera England Mahan.

Re: No Ashes thread?

£600 per ticket, they are playing at Edgbaston not in a paradise like Luton :rotfl:
