To say the niqaab should be banned to PROTECT a woman's RIGHT is a joke. Say you want to ban it because you hate it, because it scares you, because you dont like people different from you, because you are ignorant, because you think its dangerous, because you are racist, because you are an Islamaphobe -WHATEVER
But to say you want to ban it to protect a woman's right --pure joke. If you want to protect a woman's right, then RESPECT her right. Give her the right. Protect her right to choose and respect her ability to make a choice. By banning the niqaab, you are taking away her right. If you think its WRONG to force someone to wear the niqaab against their will [which it is], then how can you not find it equally wrong to force someone to take off their niqaab against their will. What happened to her rights all of a sudden? I dont wear niqaab, but I respect those who do and would defend their right to dress in the manner they deem fit. They are not breaking any laws and have no problem showing their face to identify themselves when the need arises, such as during exams, if pulled over by the police, when voting, at their airport etc. They are educated women who are contributing members of their society. To tell them, no sorry lady, you need to take that off your face, trust me, its for your own good, because I know BETTER than you what is BEST for you ---again like I said, pure joke
To say you want to ban it protect their right, is to take away their ability to make a choice and to say that they are not CAPABLE of choosing for themselves what is best for them. And that, no matter which way you look at it, is not a step forward, its a step backwards
