Its a good move. Good for women in hijab or without hijab. Now a day due to religion mania women in hijab are ata greater risk.
Its a protecting garment figuratively. In terms of moral and religion. Its not a freaking armour. People tend to be so literal that they are almost beyond belief idiotic.

There is no evidence to suggest that wearing a burqa keeps you safer than not wearing a burqa. One can be reasonably modestly dressed and still not be covering their faces, their hair, arms, etc. I don't wear a burqa, I live in a very dangerous neighborhood, and thankfully, no one has attacked me yet. But that's because I practice safety procedures. Not because of what I'm wearing.
Neither is there any evidence to suggest that one without burqas are safer. Women get mugged all the time. Now a day racial and religious attacks are the fever but that is not to say that non religious women dont get attacked.
You think one can be modestly dressed without wearing burqa some people might disagree with you. They have a right to wear what they please and practise whatever art of self defense. Why do you have this need to impose your way of living to every one else's?

In this case, reverse it. The environment they're in is intolerant of their dress code and culture. Better to keep yourself safe by not wearing the burqa than by wearing it.
They're being attacked because they're identifiable as Muslims. When the bigots attack Muslims coming out of the mosque, I suppose they should quit praying. Or if a Muslim has a beard...he should smarten up and get rid of it...Hijabis too...anyone wearing an Allah pendent...what else? Oh hell, just may as well abandon the faith to please the bigots...
If anything, everyone...man, women, dog and parrot, should wear a burqa just to spite the bigots.

Oh, well, you see, the burqa is not part of Islam. If it were, I'd be more respectful towards it. But, well. Its not.
In fact the dress you wear in streets is also not the part of Islam as women at the time of Prophet sallAllahu 'alayhe wasallam didn't wear what you do, so you mean you can be dressed in bikinis as well? You will be more protected by doing so, no one will pass any racist remarks, they will accept you with an open heart. Isn't it?

Exactly, but bro, some are moderate-Muslims, their god is their Christian masters who give them , job, food, water and oxygen. They will say and do whatever pleases their masters.

There is an old saying "Live in Rome as the Romans live", it's not lost it's relevance over 1000s of years.
The men walk freely amongst the western population, since they wear pants & trousers, suits same as everyone else, but these ladies are made to look different & living in the dark ages.
I feel sad that the Mulla's in these countries preach to these ladies to 'no matter what' wear the burqa/veil - it's your *jihad. *

Maybe its people like you who have given secular moderate people this impression of Islam? I mean, whats the world to think when your friends go around blowing themselves up, or threatening music shops etc..

British people I have met always say that this is the worst part of the Pakistani community in england.. That they isolate themselves from te general society in these crappy neighborhoods, refusing to recognize that living in a society means accepting (atleast to some extent) its norms and practices.
Its no wonder the Muslim youths in England feel so alienated, there parents have insolated them from the entire British society!

Even if you wear like the British Whites, you will still look different from them with your dark skin and enslaved attitude, you people believe that you are a lower race so you must try to please them by wearing like them, speaking like them, but it can't change the fact that you are a Paki in Britain or wherever.
If you want to live like Romans in the Rome then you have to send your sisters out to night clubs so that they can learn the manners of Rome there, and if you have any self respect and no inferiority complex, you will try to maintain your identity anywhere.

I'm talking about the immigrants.. they sow the seeds for most problems for the coming generations.. by isolating themselves from the mainstream.. livin in muslim ghettos etc etc.. ofcourse the whites are somewhat at fault too for a lot of them are ignorant and unfriendly to brown immigrants....
its your country when you accept it as yoru country with pride and you respect the foundation of the country on the basis of freedom and secularism, and its your country when you stop trying to implement sharia... and when you stop supporting (directly or indirectly) the ppl the country is at war with..

Its disturbing and yet so clear to me that one of the biggest obstacles of our muslim ummah is not racism against the muslim ummah, but the inferiority complexes we have because we constantly think someone hates us because of our skin.
If you wear something that is NOT a burqa, you are not necessarily immitating a white person. Jeans and t-shirts, and pants and shirts, etc have become so universal, that its really immature to say that anyone wearing these sorts of clothing is immitating a white person and thereby disrespecting their own faith. The Quran doesn't tell you what style of clothes to wear, it just tells you to cover up modestly. Why can't you guys just leave that as it is?
