Hello Ladies!! I’ve been gone for a long time!!! Sorry for the extended absence. So my bf/husband and I got a new apartment (Sara, sorry to say, we’re in Long Island now, no longer in the Bronx), got married, and moved to our new apartment in extremely boring Long Island. Whoever thought up the idea of moving to the suburbs never had a life in the city!
Our nikkah went very well, and my wedding lengha came out very nicely. It was nothing spectacular, and it’s not going to be what I’ll wear for the formal official wedding we’ll have next summer (family politics/problems on in-laws side; it’s always the in-laws, isn’t it?)
So here’s the pic of my dress. It was a red silk lengha I was able to get at Jackson Height at the very last minute. Like I said, nothing special, but I had promised to post it before, so posting it now. Sorry for the delay. And thanks once again to everyone for their suggestions on how to keep the dupatta on my head. It actually worked out decently with some pins and clips.
By the way, I've tried emailing HSY 3 times now, 1 useless response from a sales agent, and nothing more. Anyone know how I can get a hold of Mr. Yasin himself, instead of going through his useless assistants?
LoL. Was my bf, got married, then became my hubby. Managing one man’s ego is work enough. No no, everything was actually last minute (including the nikkah.) So was in a last minute rush to get my outfit too. 1 year time frame suddenly turned into 2 weeks’ time. I chose it myself. Sorry, but will never let anyone choose my wedding outfit except me; inlaws can crib all they want. I’M the bride, ONLY I choose my wedding outfit.
Oh okay coz you mentioned some inlaw stuff related to the wedding/wedding dress. Where in Jackson Heights did you get it? If you dont mind, how much was it? And did u get accessories from there as well?
I wnet to JH a few weeks ago and we saw some gorgeous weddign dresses

I got mine at Karishma, and it was about $700, including the matching necklace & earring set. I believe they do customization too… like if u see a design you like, and want a certain color and material with that design, you can have them do it for you. But whatever you do, don’t get your blouse fitted through them. Their tailor SUCKS!!! Get it done elsewhere. Bought a costume jewelry set as my real ones are being made back home, and will probably be here in a couple more months.
In what stores did you see the gorgeous wedding dresses? I saw some nice ones, but it was extremely hard to find something nice in silk, and Karishma seemed to be the only place that had any silk outfits (although i had to REALLY bother the sales ladies to give me some assistance and show me some nice ones.) Let me know if there’s any good stores I should check into. Thanks
OMG thas where i went, karishma!! I think Karishma has the nicest stuff, a lil slutty but u can always get it fixed.
They have hte most beautiful stuff there
Theres one store in JH, im not sure of the exact address but the stuff they had was gorgeous, and best thign it was 1 of a kind (at least thats wat she said). she has a catalog of her own personal designs n watever u like, u can get it customized (for sleeves and stuff)
I disagree that your dress isnt all that
It looks very nice, nice shade of red, nice kaam and very nice jewellery.
I wanto see your hair and makeup please :)
