I have not understood it wrong, read up about it instead of just listening to what mum and dad or random people have told you. We are not all scholars and I am most certainly not but I make sure I know the facts.

Ruksati is not a cultural thing you just said so yourself about witnesses in Asian culture that is what is called ruksati so I have no idea what your point is but I know that signing a piece of paper in front of two people does not mean that you can have sex. Nikkah is marriage in loose terms nikkah gives the girl all her rights such as hak mer and khula as well as all the rights of marriage in Islam. But until the formal side of things is completed i.e. ruksati it does not mean that the guy can **** the girl.

Again I reiterate the parents do not know of what the kidz are doing I know for a fact that a nikkah in parents eyes is not for the kidz to be having sex that is not why they do it, it is for the commitment, but the girl gets all her rights.

Instead of arguing over a matter of religion without facts.
Present me some ahadith from authentic sources that say nikaah is not marriage & rukhsati is a necessity.
