This reminds me, i was watching some movies of someones wedding…for the baraat and mehndi, he lookd totally disinterested and, blah… and finally on the valima, he had this HUGE grin on his face. :cb:

Ok, some one of u might find my question strange but I really want to ask. Other than being 'filthy' (as some called it) or being 'dirty', during ur period; why cant u have intercourse? any health related issues?

Ok wait for it, what ive heard, dont know of it being true so you'll have to tell me, is, if you dont consummate the mariage within a certain amount of time, the nikah is broken

yea but thats a totally different thing...bdw its really funny..so wht if the girl is on periods...its nt sumthng where she can choose...its not even optional..so its not her fault!!
besides that valima is jst a rasam..and in theory if ur nt wiling to do it .u can jst skip it!! as nikkahh is the main part of the wedding...and ur seen husband wife afterwards and free to do sex withouth commiting any sin....so valima has nthng to do with it

“It is a recommended sunna, not obligatory, to consummate the marriage before the walima (the post-marriage celebration).” Valima is not just rasam- it holds significant importance in islam also just like Nikkah does. It’s sunnah tul Rasul (pbuh)

i wonder why people think that marriage is not valid until you have valima. the link i posted above explains it so well and clearly. nikkah is marriage, valima is a sunnah event to follow up with.

i am not referring to what you wrote- it's a general misconception that if you dont have a valima done, you're not 'fully' married. however, valima is not just a rasam- it's an islamic tradition.

a woman whose on her period cannot enter a mosque supposedly. SO if she has her period on her nikkah which is in a mosque, then its not valid?
