And if you want to be Islamic about it, which desis typically aren't about anything in general except hijabs and beards, a Nikkah = wedding, which means all husbandly and wifely duties go into effect after that nikkah. Not just the pleasurable benefits. In other words, she needs to live with him, and they need to start taking care of each other as soon as the nikkah ceremony is over.
Well, yes if the set up is going to be typical like that. Dunno why people are daft enough to marry some dude who is gonna run away (from his responsibilities) anyway. Which can just as easily happen after rukhsati too. From what I've seen, the waiting period between nikkah and rukhsati is peachy, it's when the responsibilities become reality that the **** hits the fan.
As for your post above this one.. again.. it's the mentality that needs changing. Nikkah isn't just something you can throw away, just because a 'ruskhsati' hasn't been done.
eh, even if they are (as in a period between when you get married and when you actually start playing house together), no one has the right to stop you seeing each other and doing your business. it's that mentality that needs sorting out.

Hmmm... PCG you and this site have me hating our desi mentality a lot more than I did before!!! Can't tell if that's a good thing, or bad...... But I completely agree with the above statement!
When’s the Rukhsati? And if you knew culture would hold you back why didnt you just do the rukhsati straight away? And dude seriously, is it really that hard to control yourself?
I guess going to the gym helps to vent out your…erm… frustrations and such. Also, if you work really, really hard you’ll be too tired to even think about doing anything else
