I had my nikkah on the wedding day so I wore my wedding dress. My sister had it on her Mayoon so she wore her yellow mayoon jora. A friend of mine had it 8 mths before her wedding so she wore an off white lehnga with red/maroon kaam.
I think Peshwas/Anarkali would look fab at the nikkah or even a khara Hyderabadi dupatta if you want to take the middle road.
