I’m reallly confused and need your help! My Nikkah is only around the corner (after EID) and i need to choose a colour for my nikkah outfit but i have absolutely no idea!
My wedding is next year and i am quite clear about those colours for example i might go for:
Yellow/orange/green for mendhi
white/ivory for registration
red/maroon for Rukhsati
and i will probably not be having a walima.
So what colour should i wear for the Nikkah as this will be a separate function… i need to know urgently as i have to put my dress order in this week.
I thought the nikkah and walima were the main events from a religious point of view, so when you say you're not having a walima I presume you mean the dinner etc will be given on the day of the rukhsati for example?
Anyway I digress, there's no rules as to what colour you have to wear for your Nikkah but I would've gone with something like ivory or cream - however you're wearing that for your registration so how about something in a nice pastel shade?
Yes soz what i meant to say was that the rukhsati and walima will be together if you know what i mean........ so i will have only the one outfit for that.
Maybe something soft-colored -- pinks, lilac, lavendar, purple, peach, aqua, ferozi, indigo, periwinkle. i think any of these would look nice. don't worry about the color too much, since you don't really mind. just look for a suit you really like.
I think sparrow is referring to the civil ceromony - which isn't actually obligatory since the Nikkah is recognised by UK law as a legal marriage ceromony but some people like to do both :)
LOl sounds good! is it done on the same day as the nikkah? coz then i thin it would be too much trouble to get ur hair/makeup/jewelry/change clotehs in the same day haina?
nikkah per ap eyes band ker k ferozi ya os say zara dark ferozi ek shade hota hai wo.....bus yeh colors ...ya tea pink say zara dark shade....wo bhe acha lagta hai.......
Thanks very much for all your suggestions i quite like the idea of ferozi and i have seen the most beautiful ferozi (dark ferozi with some green) dress ever but some of my friends have said that it's more of a walima colour rather than a nikkah colour but as i won't have a separate walima function i think it should be okay what do you guys think?
well I am not sure if its true or not but i was told by some old aunties in ma family That hazrat Fatima (razi allah tala enha) wore green for her nikkah
and its good to wear green on nikkah
i wore blue and green
Go ahead, wear watever colour u like, its your wedding !! Its been quite stressing for you i know, (well from what you'ev said before, hope u don't mind me saying that) so I think u deserve to do whaetver you want , don't let ppl dictate what colour u wanna wear :)
