Night of Power for the powerless

Okay so how are you planning on spending the coming last ten days of Ramadan? Special duas? What do you guys do? i want to know personal experiences, personal acts of worship… Let’s help each other to become better Muslims. Share what you do during the coming ten nights so others (like me) can also learn and feel inspired to incorporate the duas into our own. Would be much appreciated.

Crying infront of Allah - it’s not impossible

Re: Night of Power for the powerless

errrr…ur going to cry on purpose? won’t those be crocodile tears?

if u really feel crying, then u shouldn’t/wouldn’t wait till the last 10 days, right?

No, you are absolutely right, of course those would be crocodile tears. i think where the author is coming from, is his argument that Ramadan is a more heightened awareness - that we should use this month to sharpen our spirituality so that we may carry it beyond just one month of the year.

i completely agree with you, there is no point in only doing all of this unless we carry it inside of ourselves for the rest of our lives, not only when Ramadan comes around. From my personal perspective, i hate to say this but i feel more scared and also a bit more inspired because i know that on one of these nights, the Quran was Revealed… and the peace that is supposed to descend on that particular night, is something that i want to feel. But, of course, unless i carry that knowledge/sharpened spirituality with me to the rest of the months and for the rest of my life - then it is worthless.

Hope that clears it up. :flower1:

Surah Al-Qadr

11340.Surah Al Qadr

We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power:

097.002
And what will explain to thee what the night of power is?

097.003
The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.

097.004
Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah's permission, on every errand:

^ Thank you so much :flower1: i love this Surah, but in particular that last ayat, Peace!..This until the rise of morn! i just want some of that peace.

Perhaps, just incase this is of any benefit to anyone, the Qari who is reciting the Surahs at the top of the links on the main Gupshup page - the entire list of his mp3s can be accessed here: http://www.madressa.net/fx/quran.html He has such an amazing, melodic, peaceful voice.

:flower1: My thanks again, 5Abi

I agree 100% :k:

i undertake a all nite vigil on taak raats

Nadia_H and Nesico:

When the author says cry in front of Allah, its when our prayers are most felt and heard because the heart at that time is so vulnerable and at its truest. You put yourself in the state and weigh your sins. Its not something that just comes as easily as turning on a tap and down roll the crocodile tears. There is nothing fake about it. I'll have to assume that neither of you have witnessed people crying while praying or asking for dua. You ever wonder why they are crying? It starts with a series of thoughts, your life, your role, what you have done so far and it carries on from there. Its all a matter of devotion and how deep you can divulge into His arms for mercy to be able to cry for Him and with those tears your sins Insha'Allah are washed away. The moment it does happen to you and believe me there will be some point in life where it will happen and you will feel soemthing inexplainable. Only then you will see what the author is trying to tell you.

CocoNut :flower1: That’s beautiful.

… well i have cried while making dua. And yes it is something unexplainable, indescribable. It’s not something you ‘plan’ on doing, it happens when you reach a point when you really truly realize how dependent one is upon Allah. And you realize you have no one but Him.

Sis Nadia, the below is especially for you. :flower1:

Allah, the Exalted, says: "And they fall down on their faces **weeping ** and it increases their humility.‘’ (17:109)

"Do you then wonder at this recitation (the Qur’an)? And you laugh at it and weep not ". (53:59-60)

Hazrat Ibn Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said to me: “Recite the Qur’an to me”. I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Shall I recite the Qur’an to you, when it has been revealed to you?‘’ He (PBUH) replied, “I love to hear it recited by others”. So I recited to him a portion from Surat An-Nisa’. When I reached the Ayah:
"How (will it be) then, when We bring from each nation a witness and We bring you (O Muhammad (PBUH)) as a witness against these people?” (4:41)

He (PBUH) said, “Enough for now”. When I looked at him I saw his eyes were shedding tears . [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Anas bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) delivered a Khutbah to us the like of which I had never heard from him before. In the course of the Khutbah, he said: “If you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much”. Thereupon those present covered their faces and beganto sob . [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “One who weeps out of fear of Allah , will not enter the Hell till milk returns back in the udder; and the dust raised on account of fighting in the path of Allah and the smoke of Hell will never exist together”. [At-Tirmidhi].

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Seven people Allah will give them His Shade on the Day when there would be no shade but the Shade of His Throne (i.e., on the Day of Resurrection): And they are: a just ruler; a youth who grew up with the worship of Allah; a person whose heart is attached to the mosques, two men who love and meet each other and depart from each other for the sake of Allah; a man whom an extremely beautiful woman seduces (for illicit relation), but he (rejects this offer and) says: `I fear Allah’; a man who gives in charity and conceals it (to such an extent) that the left hand does not know what the right has given; and a man who remembers Allah in solitude and his eyes become tearful .[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

`Abdullah bin Ash-Shikhkhir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I came to Messenger of Allah (PBUH) when he was performing prayers. He was sobbing and his chest sounded like a boiling kettle . [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].

Abu Umamah Sudaiy bin `Ajlan Al-Bahili (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Nothing is dearer to Allah than two drops and two marks: **A drop of tears shed out of fear of Allah ** and a drop of blood shed in Allah’s way. Regarding the two marks, they are: Marks left in the Cause of Allah and a mark left in observing one of the obligatory act of worship of Allah, the Exalted”.
[At-Tirmidhi].

Al-`Irbad bin Sariyah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: One day Messenger of Allah (PBUH) delivered us a very eloquent Khutbah on account of which **eyes shed tears and hearts became softened. ** [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].

JazakAllahukhair to Nadia and Ibn Sadique for sharing this…May Allah :swt: grant peace and blessings upon you, Ameen…:flower1:

I tell you Nadia, with all thats been going on in the world, etc, I really do hope that this year I will take a stand and bow down. Insha'Allah.

Tears come naturally when i am praying tahajjud, standing infront of Allah when everyone else is sleeping and im standing infront of Him all alone.... with his fear and feeeling the guilt of my own deeds, tears come naturally...

In lailatul Qadr i try to do as much zikr as possible plus i try not to miss salatul tasbeeeh.

Jazakallah all of you for sharing your feelings and knowledge :-)

I like this dua, last verse of Surah Al-Baqarah:

O our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, Our Lord! Lay not on us the burden like that which You did lay on those before us. Our Lord! Put not on us the burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and Grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maula (Supporter, Protector, Patron, Sustainer etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people. (AL-BAQARAH: 286)

Coco, i know what u are describing here, and i can’t object to it. But what my point of saying was that 99% of the cases of ppl cry seems awkward. Cuz many a time i have seen ppl cry during dua, namaz or any other religious activity and the very next moment they are back to their usual habits…as if the dua didn’t make any difference to them :flower1:

Hey! I was going to post that duas.:)

Jazak Allah for posting..:D

Well thats where you just leave them be to their lord and their deeds. The point is that we should better ourselves before we start looking at others.

The Last Ten Day Of Ramadan Are Extremely Important As The Night Of Qadr Falls Upon Us On Any Given Last Ten Days. Make Them Count. This Is One Time In A Year Loh-E-Mehfooz Is Opened To Influence By Our Prayers.
