my point is: if that processes u described is nothing more than self-reflection, then why not call it by that name instead of the misleading crying

Its more than self reflection. What I've described along with the author are only parts of what one has to journey through. Its nothing exact. Its actually more that words cannot describe. Regardless of how we look at it or what we name the process, its still misleading since everyone has their own method.

Swera :flower1: Thank you.

5Abi, Thanks for those links

Ibn Sadique, K-2, and Lajawab, Thank you so much, all of you. Brother Ibn Sadique, those were very beautiful to read. i really appreciate your taking the time to post those in my thread, thank you.

>>May Allah : swt: grant peace and blessings upon you, Ameen…<<
Ameen. :flower1: Upon all of us.

CocoNut and Nescio, i think the three of us are basically right in our own respective positions. Being insincere is easy - i can lie to my parents, i can put up a pretence of being religious, of praying, of keeping my rozas, i can lie to my family and put on a show of being a good obedient Muslim daughter, who cries crocodile tears when she is staying up at night in hopes of earning sawaab on the Night of Power, i can put on a show for everyone and hope everyone thinks i’m being the good obedient little Muslim daughter - but we all know that Allah is closer to us than our jugular veins. Only He has the Power to see inside each of us to see how sincere our actions, our duas, and our tears are. Nescio, you are absolutely right it is also most definitely a part of self-reflection. But when that self-reflection reaches a point where i realize how many sins i have committed, how many times i have lost my temper, or been selfish, or lied, or gossiped, missed countless prayers and rozas, everything - it just boils over. At that time you can’t hold back your tears… it’s like a blanket of realization washes over you, and you feel how helpless you are to change anything unless you have Allah with you.

i dunno. Words can’t express it. We can lie to everyone, but not to Allah. He knows best who is sincere and who is not. i pray all of us use the coming nights in the best way possible Insha’Allah.

Everyone’s comments are much appreciated. Thank you sincerely.

coco: if the above-menioned isn’t self-reflection and self-criticism, that i don’t know what is. It certainly is NOT cryng. My point being that if you call this crying then ppl are strange enough to see this ‘cryng’ as what i said would be: crocodile tears. If u really want ppl o follow what u and the author describe, then it invariably shud be called self-reflection. Of course, as you say, it’s just a matter of how you name it…but i’ve seen many strange ppl, an i can tell u: if u say ‘crying’ then 80% of them will think of crying as just open the tap and NOT self-reflection.

we all here at GS know, what is meant here with crying…but i assume this article was written for a broader publc (= the average human), and special care shud have been taken to avoid misinterpretations

Nadia: :k: exactly…when self-reflection turns into self-criticism an trying to improve urself, hat is when the tears MIGHT come. however, if u callit crying, then most ppl will think they can’t have this without shedding tears, so they will shed crocodile tears

Asslaam Aleekum

I downloaded Surahs from Madreesa.net as mentioned in website.
The link was also given. But there was a mistake in recitation.
I checked it with other downloads of Surahs(different websites).

So i will request that Muslims must NOT use this website.

take care
