Re: NFL

it would have been very embarassing for chargers to lose the game to Colts where Peyton threw for 6 interceptions. But they tired everything to lose the game. vinateri didnt deliver when it counted the most LOL

Re: NFL

oh colts game was such a bummer :bummer:

we were so close!! vinatieri :smack:

but i still say we still did pretty damn well in the end for being so far behind and screwing up so much in the beginning…as well as having so many injuries as to have to play third string

Re: NFL

Week 10

Game of the week was between San Diego Chargers and Indianapolis Colts. Peyton Manning threw 4 interceptions in the first quater as Chargers took the lead of 23-7 at the end of 3rd. Chargers had Colts right where they wanted, but Manning had other plans. After his 7 yard touchdown to Kenton Keith and the 2pt conversion, Colts were back in the game. Philip Rivers fumble recovery in the end zone by Gary Brackett and Chargers lead shrank to 23-21.

Manning than led the drive from SD42 to SD11 where Adam "Mr. Clutch" Vinatieri had to kick a 29-yard field goal to finish the game. He missed and Chargers escaped an upset. This rarely happens whether it is Peyton Manning's six interceptions, Chargers giving up 14 points in 4th quater at home while leading or Vinatieri missing an easy field goal. I think they'll be happy to go over .500 again.

Farve again had a big game 33-46, 351 yds 3 TDs as Green Bay shut out Vikings 34-0 and took a commanding lead of 8-1. Cowboys and Giants committed several errors in their game, but Tony Romo never lost sight from his main man Terrel Owens. He hit Owens on two of his four touchdowns as Dallas beats NY 31-20.

Dallas has swept New York this season, they are two games ahead of Giants, three over Redskins and four-game margin on Philadelphia. They are tied with Green Bay for the best record in the conference. Last time Cowboys were 8-1, they went to Super Bowl and won.

Pittssburgh and Ben Roethlisberger also showed their resilience. They were down 21-9 in first half, with Derek Anderson's 3 TD passes. Ben led Steelers for three scoring drives, which gave them the lead. In the end P. Dawson missed a 52-yard filed goal and Steelers won 31-28.

New England and Pittsburgh are dominating their division rivals and it is unlikely that they will loose their sight while AFC South and West looks very open as Titans, Jaquars, Broncos and Cheifs will be making their run towards the top spot.

Same goes for NFC.

Re: NFL

packerz all da way :D.. hopefully favre wins one b4 retiring...

Re: NFL

Week 11

The New England Patriots seems to be going past every opponent with same mentality, show no mercy. They are not only beating their opponents with big margins, but also humiliating them like never before. Brady who is atleast throwing three touchdowns per game is on the pace to break the NFL record for most touchdowns, held at 49 by Peyton Manning. This record seemed unbeatable, but with this offense it is just matter of time. Randy Moss is the key beneficiary.

Tom Brady went for 31-39 373yds 5 TDs

Rady Moss 128 Yds and 4 TDs

56-10 New England

On the other hand, another team with star wide receiver T. Owens had a big day for himself. Owens' TD catches of 4, 31, 46, and 52 yards were instrumental in helping Dallas win four straight since their first loss at the hands of Patriots. Cowboys are 9-1 along with Packers.

Indianapolis Colts are showing signs of weakness. Probably due to injuries to their squad. Their win against the Kansas City Cheifs may not be a convincing one, but it does give them the time and space to heal. Adam Vinatieri had another difficult day, but in the end he managed to overcome his bad streak and kick a 24-yard with 4 seconds left that gave Colts a 13-10 win over the Cheifs. Baltimore Ravens on the other hand were not so lucky. Cleveland Browns were trailing 30-27 on the final play of regulation. Dawson attempted a 51-yard kick. It was first ruled incomplete but after sometime the refrees found out that the ball hit the left upright and than bouned off the crossbar. Baltimore Ravens players, coach and fans could not believe it. Cleveland won the game on over time.

The last few games are going to show whether any of the division leaders (Colts, Chargers and Seahawks) will fold and other teams will dare to challenge them. New England's last few games will be watched closely. Will they make an attempt for 16-0? Do they have to because it looks easy when most of those games are at home and teams like Eagles, Ravens and Jets are not having a great season. Moreover, with Steelers loosing to Jets and Giants making mistakes and erros, New England can afford to bench some players and try to win it. In the end, this is NFL, anything can happen.

Re: NFL

Pats are now 12-0. Surprisingly Baltimore almost got 'em, before a final minute touchdown got Pats pass this latest obstacle in their quest to remain perfect.

Re: NFL

Week 12 and 13:

AFC

Playoff picture is becoming very clear. Pats, Colts, Steelers and Chargers are leading their divisions. Patriots should have been 9-3, Colts, Eagles and Ravens were very close to beating them, but they all made mistakes in the fourth quater and New England is still undefeated. 12-0. Patriots deserve it because they play all quaters, it was amazing how Colts blew a lead at home, how A.J Feely threw away the game at fourth quater and how Ravens lost their character at the end of the game. Baltimore's coach called a time out at New England's 4th down, the game should have ended there but it went on and Brady sealed it with an amazing touchdown to Gaffney with 44 seconds left in the game.

Indianapolis Colts are getting healthier and it is showing in their game. Their victories against Falcons and Jaguars showed what their offense can do. Dallas Clark and Harrison are integeral part of their offense and the way Wayne is playing, this team can score quick points.

Steelers are doing their best to stay in the game and win. Ben and Hines Ward are scoring touchdowns at will. Their defense has yet to give up 30 points in a game. Chargers have won two striaght and the way their offense has played in last two games, team is in a great shape to make the playoff.

NFC

Dallas, Green Bay, Seatle and Tampa Bay are leading their respective divisions. Dallas has dominated their opponents except New England. Green Bay and Brett Farve are close second while Tampa Bay and Seatle are finding ways to win game despite injuries to their key players.

Giants, Bears and Lions will be competing for the Wild Card. All of them had great expectations at the start of the season, but injuries and quaterbacks have let them down. Oh and by the way, Grossman is back with the Bears.

New England still has to face Steelers and Giants, both have great defense, but the way Pats have played so far in the season, 16-0 seems all but inevitable. Brady should break Mannings record.

Re: NFL

The most incredible game. Ravens played with so much heart.

And what about that timeout call. Technically, they could've reversed it, according to the rules book.

Re: NFL

Tom Brady once again showed that when it comes to winning the game, he knows how to do it, and do it in 4th quarter as well, being behind and leading a picture perfect textbook style time consuming drive with a TD in the end. That was the most impressive part of the game.

Ravens made several mistakes including the time out call and Boller throwing a deep pass which was intercepted. There was absolutely no need for that. Not to mention several flags that were thrown against Ravens throughout the game for foul play. No need for those either.

Re: NFL

Yeah, that was some game. Brady stepped up when needed and won the game at the end.
They have a real chance of going 16-0. They play Steelers, Jets, Dolphins, and Giants. Steelers are the only tough team IMO. Go Patriots.

Re: NFL

Week 14

New England Patriot's beat down of Steelers by 34-13 again demonstrated the dominance of this team. Steelers came in with the best defense in the NFL, but came out distorted, confused and loss of words. They never bothered Tom Brady who went 32-46, 399 yds and 4 TDs. There were two 50 plus yards for touchdowns, one for Moss other for Gaffney. They also had the gadget play to mock the Steelers. Patriots are neither scared nor overly confident about their streak. They are just comfortable; this is how they play the game.

Dallas Cowboys showed their resilience. Romo and tight end Jason Witten put their mistakes behind to win the game for the Cowboys via late 16-yard touchdown with 18 seconds left. It was a great come from behind win for the Cowboys and a disappointing loss for the Lions. Detroit, who won 6 out of 8, now, has lost 5 straight games. This guarantees that they will not win 10 games, statement made by their quarterback earlier in the season.

Playoffs are near so we will be discussing the winners and contenders. I think it is now the appropriate time to see off the teams that were expected to make the playoffs.

First are the Eagles, they were use to winning the division, but this season they have taken a huge dip. From the start, team never looked in a consistent form. Their offense always failed scored big point while their defense and special teams let many games slip by see: Packers and Bears.

Bears that went to the Super bowl with the help of Grossman were not able do it this time around. Even though Hester continued with his amazing plays, Chicago's defense and offense could never win them games. They have lot of thinking to do this offseason, mostly in the slot of quarterbacks.

New Orleans Saints were another let down. Last year their offense was a treat to watch and their story was one for the books. This season they started off with a losing streak and by the time they got back up, it was too late.

Re: NFL

Week 15

New England remained perfect with their win over the Jets while Miami Dolphins got their first win of the seaon by defeating the Raven in overtime. Ravens, who had a great season last year, have been a great disappointment. Lewis, Heap and McGahee are the only ones who made an effort during the season.

Great win by the Redskins over the Giants. Vikings win over the Bears not only eliminates them but also Lions and Eagles. Philidelphia won a surprise game over the Cowboys at Dallas. Last year it was the same result, maybe it has lot to do with Tony Romo's girlfriend(s)?

Packers can take the home field advantage this week. Giants and Vikings will be looking to close the deal on wild card spots.

Re: NFL

Preview

Vikings will clinch playoff berth by defeating REdskins. How explosive is Adrian Peterson? Man, oh man!

Patriots defeat Dolphins but not by as much as everyone thinks. I say a 13 point ball game.

Re: NFL

i wish the dolphins hadnt won. Would have been an interesting matchup of 14-0 and 0-14 teams.

Re: NFL

Week 16

Patriots are still undefeated as the season is coming to close. There were upsets as Redskins defeated the Vikings and Browns lost to Bengals at home. Green Bay Packer's loss against the Bears gave Dallas Cowboys the home-field advantage.

-Will Giants play their starters against the Patriots?
-Will Dallas rest Romo against Redskins? Owens is out for the game.
-Will Indianapolis Colts play Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne against Titans?

There is no need for these teams to play their starters because it is a useless game for them. However, teams like Browns, Vikings, Redskins, Titans and Saints have their playoff hopes attached to next week. Even if Giants play their starters, New England should go 16-0. Brady and Moss are just few touchdowns away from breaking single season record.

Here are playoff scenarios:

AFC

Clinched:

  • New England Patriots: AFC East; home field advantage
  • Indianaplis Colts: AFC South, first-round bye
  • San Diego Chargers: AFC West
  • Pittsburgh Steelers: AFC North
  • Jacksonville Jaquars: Wild-card berth
  • Tennesse Titans: Clinch playoff with win OR Browns loss
  • Cleveland Browns: Clich playoff with Titans loss OR win

NFC

Clinched:

  • Dallas Cowboys: NFC East; home-field advantage
  • Green Bay Packers: NFC North; first-round bye
  • Seattle seahawks: NFC West
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers: NFC South
  • New York Giants: Wild-card berth
  • Washington Redskins: Clinch playoff with win OR Vikings, Saints loss
  • Minnesota Vikings: Clinch playoff with win and Redskins loss OR Redskins loss
  • New Orleans Saints: Clinch playoff with win AND Redskins, Vikings loss

Re: NFL

Oh cant wait for later tonight. Are the Pats gonna do it? 16-0. Are the giants even gonna try to stop the pats or are they going to rest thier star players.

Re: NFL

^Only 3 hours to go. Go Eli!!!

Re: NFL

**New England Patriots WIN 38-35

**and become the 1st team in NFL to go 16-0.

Re: NFL

Giants played very well despite knowing this game is pretty much useless. Eli definatly seemed alot confident today even though Shockey is out. Him and jacob and toomer had some great plays and made quiet a hairy situation for Pats. So I'm not really that upset about Giants loss 'cuz alot of ppl were expecting a total washout and that didnt happen.

Re: NFL

^ Yes Giants played really well for three quarters. But the last quarter belonged to Pats, that's where Giants lost the plan.
