NFL

Season kicked off and Colts have made the statement. They are here to stay. It was like watching two games; first half where the game was tied 10-10 than 31-0 run. The defense, execution, Manning and Wayne. Saints need to bounce back because their offense did not look in sync. There were zero touchdowns and this was just first game.

Are You Ready For Some Football!!!

Re: NFL

i sure am ready for some football. what a game by the patriots. they just killed the jets....its gonna be a huge game against the chargers next week. chargers beat up patriots last time they were in foxboro. plus they would wanna avenge last years loss

Re: NFL

Week one and NFL is making the news. Pats are now accused of being cheaters and teams are thinking whether spying occurred previously. They got fined;

*The NFL on Thursday fined Belichick $500,000 - the maximum amount allowed under the league constitution and by-laws - for violating league policy by attempting to videotape the offensive or defensive signals of the New York Jets’ coaching staff during Sunday’s season opener.

The league also fined the Patriots organization $250,000 and stripped the club of a conditional draft pick in 2008. If the Patriots reach the playoffs this season, they will forfeit their own first-round pick; if they miss the playoffs, the penalty will be a second- and third-round pick. *

Eli Manning is injured, which means that Giants are in even bigger mess that they were before. Same with Jets where Chad is out with injuries.

Two things that stood out were Eagles and Ravens. These teams performed below par as their offense failed to produce. Moreover, Rex Gorssman is the same and it seems like this season Bears have to rely once again on their defense to win games. Interesting thing is despite having the whole off season, Chicago did not make a single move for quarterback position.

Week 2 is going to be interesting, first and foremost Chargers and Patriots. Also, Titans against Colts, last two meeting were very close.

Re: NFL

How about the Lions, they looked good.

Re: NFL

Chargers vs. Cheatriots i mean Patriots, tonight

replay of last years semifinal game

Re: NFL

lets see whoz gonaa win

Re: NFL

whoa.... rex tried real hard so that chiefs would win but chicago defense yet again foiled the plans of their quarterback and won the game.

Re: NFL

Pats pretty much routed the Chargers.

49'ers edge out Rams to be 2-0 for the first time since '98. So who thinks 49'ers will be the surprise team of NFC?

Re: NFL

this year, i dunno...in another year maybe.

Re: NFL

Week 2: Amazing stuff, first and foremost Patriots ripped Chargers apart. The game was over within first half. Just a ruthless performance from offense and defense. Tomlinson was neutralized.

Colts had much tougher outing with Titans. Vince Young again showed his leadership skills. The amazing thing is teams such as Packers, Niners, Texans, Redskins and Lions are 2-0. Something that was unimaginable before the season started. Eagles struggled and Saints again failed to score big. Rex is still the same.

Saints vs. Titans is one to watch. It will be interesting how Eagles, Giants and Jets respond. Their season is very much on the line.

Re: NFL

advance scouts get 95% of the information for you..bill belichek got greedy and wanted 100% information.....this was from an ex scout who works for ESPN now

i dont think it was thta big of an edge...anyways its gonna be an exciting season for the patriots...i can't wait for their game against indy

i hope 49ers don't win another game...patriots will get their 1st pick so i would like it to be a high draft pick

Re: NFL

Week 3 analysis Man with a Plan?

How bout Da Boys and all them other surprise 3-0 teams?

Re: NFL

^ Sure

Week 3: Bears made the right choice. Too little too late though. Rex is done, entire city can relax. Philly and Donovan showed that they are the contenders. What a display of Football. Just a total and complete annihilation. Westbrook continues to show potential and there is still more. Packers and Chargers game was great. Farve was at his best after a long time, tied Marino for all time touchdowns. Chargers look weary and Tomlinson has no idea what to do.

Giants comeback was surprising, I thought Redskins had the game in hand. Moreover, Saints looked like a done team. When your quarterback is throwing interceptions after interceptions and the offense that was lethal past year looks confused. You can put a fork in it. Saints have lot of thinking to do and quickly. They are not known for their defense and when offense looks like that season is over. I was a bit sad to see Jake Delhome injured. He was having such a great season and game against Falcons, until his injury. Hope he gets back to his best.

Colts and Patriots are the elites. Class above all, their match up is one to watch. Tom Brady looks very comfortable with the offense and showing big numbers, which is not his class. Randy Moss is making receptions with big yards. We have yet to see Maroney have a break out season.

Giants vs Eagles...Denver vs Indianapolis...New England vs Cincinnati.

Re: NFL

Bears will never consistantly win unless they focus on the offense. Bears have a history of paying too much attention at defense and giving big sums of $ to defensive players and not trading them. The myth that defense wins the super bowls has been shatered in past 30 year (only Ravens). You need a good offense, a decent defense and a good QB who can score 24 points a game to win in todays NFL. They should not rely on draft to get a QB since they will surely will not pick the right player. They need to trade for a proven one and offer whatever is needed. I would trade Urlacher or anyone for that matter to get someone like McNabb. Until we have a decent QB we will always be 1st round playoff exit team. And Griese is not the answer.
I wish we had Tony Romo.

Re: NFL

Week 4: Congratulations to Brett Farve for breaking all time TD record. What a dominating performance. He led his team to victory, Packers are 4-0. They are the favorites to beat the Bears who had another miserable outing. Different quarterback but same result. Now the defense is showing signs of weakness as Lions rallied second half victory. Another defense that was surprising was Giants who had Mc Nabb sacked 12 times. Great upset by Cardinals, Lions, Bills and Browns. The best one was from Kansas City who defeated the mighty Chargers. The game should have been easy for the home team especially when Tomlinson got on with a great start, but after the interceptions and aggressiveness from Kansas City, San Diego went down to 1-3.

Patriots and Colts are still the best but there are other teams who are emerging as power house. Cowboys are lethal as ever. Tony Romo seems to be doing good after his last year season ending mishap. What a game from the Quarterback and their offense, which has too many options.

  1. Pats

  2. Colts

  3. Cowboys

  4. Packers

Next week:

Detroit vs Washington....Jets vs Giants....San Diego vs Denver...Chicago vs Green Bay.

Re: NFL

Week 5: All the luck is with Romo, five interceptions and Dallas still goes on the win the game. Pats beat Cleveland and Colts run over Bucs without Harrison and Addai. Chargers looked familiar while Packers lost their first game of the season. Ray of hope for Chicago, perhaps? Giants came back swinging against the Jets who will meet Philly next week with both having 1-3 record. Steelers are quietly becoming the elite as the beat they Seahawks 21-0. Saints are now 0-4.

Cowboys vs Pats: Pats are more disciplined than Cowboys. I think Bill will go after Romo and make him throw more interceptions. 27-17

Washington vs Green Bay

Eagles vs Jets

Re: NFL

Week 6: Add another rout to Patriot’s resume as Dallas gets outscored 27-10 in second half. Sustained drives, 3rd down completion, Welker, Moss and Stalworth were the story. I was a bit surprised that Dallas despite having the ground game with Barber and Jones did not utilize them properly. Tom Brady looks very comfortable with this offense, even if Moss is not open, he has too many options. The second half comeback when New England were down 24-21 was one to watch. Touchdown, field goal, touchdown, field goal, touchdown. Dallas defense was unable to stop them. We could have been talking about record points had Moss made those two grabs in the end zone, one got dismissed by the challenge the other by penalty.

Some important notes from this game;

  • Brady had his biggest game of the season with 31 of 46 for 388 yards 5 touchdowns
  • Wes Welker had the break out game with 11 rec 124 yds and 2 tds.
  • Even without the ground game, New England dominated and never looked troubled.

A. Peterson single handedly broke the Chicago Bears’s defense.

20 Rush, 224 yds 3 TDs.

It was like watching Bears vs Peterson who had two 60+ yds gain. Unbelievable. Bears’s defense is not the same, they have given up too many yds at crunch time. Last week against Lions and this week vs Peterson. Even if they are starting to properly use their offense, the defense looks tired, is injured and is not fighting with the same passion and mentality as they did past two season.

Chargers are finally realizing how important LT is to their team.

24 Rush, 198 yds 4 TDs against Raiders.

Even if the game was against Oakland, this win will go a long way for the Chargers who understand that more LT means that their defense gets rest, Philip Rivers, who is still new gets less pressured and they have the long drives that wore down their opponents.

NFC East and AFC West have the team that will challenge the elites.

Giants have the ground game, WR and defense. Even if Manning is patchy, he has build the confidence to manufacture game winning drives. Moreover, game against Redskins and Jets shows that New York has the ability to come from behind.

Eagles have McNabb and Westbrook. Add Kevin Curtis and the offense looks lethal. Their defense is good but injuired, even than the vetern squad has what it takes to challenge big teams.

Kansas City Cheifs are finally getting their offense in order. Huard, Gonzalez, Bowe and L. Johnson. Their defense needs to be consistent.

Re: NFL

It looks like, once again, the winner of Colts vs. Patriots will take away the Superbowl.

Bengals, Chargers, Eagles etc are done.

Cowboys are entertaining to watch.

Re: NFL

Pats: 16-0 - Any takers?

Re: NFL

^ Are they better than last year's Colts? Or 2004 Championship team?

Let's analyze.

Tom Brady is having a record season, with this pace he is on his way throwing 35+ td passes. Patriot's Wide Receivers are red hot and Brady knows how to distribute the ball. Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Stalworth are getting the job done. Add Watson and Sammy Morris and it just seems impossible to stop them.

Defense is solid.

But...they won't. This is because their opponents of last six weeks are very different from next six weeks.

Jets game goes to sideline camera.

Chargers had the coaching swap and add the emotional overdraw from Jet's controversy.

Buffalo, Cincinnati and Cleveland have terrible defense.

Only Dallas game shows that this team is one of the elites of NFL and Tom Brady has come a long way.

Next six games are going to be very different as New England will finally play the playoff contenders.

Miami even tough 0-6 have a history of pulling off an upset against Patriots.

Washington defense has vastly improved.

Indianapolis finally has the defense and offense to take on New England. Colt's have much better and vibrant defense than last year. After the Bye, New England faces Philadelphia, Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Giants. Injuries are always part of the game. Latest news of Sammy Morris out for about month shows that their starters could not be able to play with same intensity every week. Moreover, once New England wins the division, I don't see Bill Bellichick playing his starters.

Odds are against New England. I think they will end their season 13-3.
