Re: NFL

Week 7:

Different week, same news, New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts are still undefeated. We may over look the Colts win against Jaqs because Patriots basically just massacred the Dolphins with their one side rout. What to talk about; 6tds passes by Tom Brady? Huge game by Wes Welker or Randy Moss’s two amazing catches for touchdown, Take your pick, this team puts on a show every week. In the end, they are team.

Pats deserve the hype, applause and number one on power ranking, but only when Colts are near second. I would give both of them number one ranking. They are in league of their own. Colts win was impressive, they faced Jaguars in their own home who went over 350+yds just year ago. It was a humiliating defeat. This time it was different only 117 yds. Credit goes to the defense that was once known for its finesse is getting and not shying away from being physical. Addai and Keith are rushing up yards and giving the much needed ground game for Peyton Manning’s team.

Denver Broncos were playing without Walker and Champ Bailey, but still managed to beat the Steelers. It was a much needed win; next game against Packers should be able to distinguish this team. They came with great hype, but yet have to deliver on consistent basis.

There are many teams like this; Chicago comes in to mind. Their win against Philadelphia Eagles was one to watch. Bears could not get their offense going and were without timeouts at their own goal line. Add Brian Grease on his own and it was sure for Eagles to win, but Brain put on a show great distribution of ball and last minute Muhammad touchdown left Eagles fans, team reeling. They have lost to Redskins, Packers, Giants and now Bears. Last year they were 5-5 and lost Mc Nabb to injuries but came back in a big way. Much was the defense and Giants loss of character in late season. Can they do it again? Moreover, is this the turn around Chicago needs? Brain has manufactured many late game winning opportunities for Bears. Once against Packers than against Vikings where Hester had his late game touchdown, even tough they lost the game but Chicago Quarterback is showing that he is much better than Rex Grossman. A lot is happening in NFC East.

It’s not over until it’s over and certainly Texans and Titans showed us just that. Tennessee was leading with 32-7 in 4th quarter when Rosenfels turned on his game with 4tds. Texans scored 29 points in fourth quarter and went on to loose by a Birnoas 8th FG.

Detroit Lions are 4-2 and Giants Defense is winning games for them who will be here at the end of season.

Re: NFL

I was just impressed by Randy Moss two TD catches with a swarm of defenders around him.

Re: NFL

so who will win when patriots play the colts?
both teams would be playing like its a super bowl. patriots defense isnt playing well, maybe cuz they dont really have to so far but they better show up in Indy

Re: NFL

My money will be on Pats (figuratively, of course). Colts are a Super Bowl contender team too, of course, but I have a feeling Pats will win.

Re: NFL

Week 8:

Many teams that were expected to win, won. The great game came on Monday Night Football; Packers vs Broncos. It was a close game till the end, yes the overtime and Brett Farve’s 82-yd touchdown to win the game. It was an amazing sight that left entire Denver shell shock.

This will go down as one of the great games in Brett Farve’s career, but what is important is his ablity to not only lead his team, but also win them games. Packer’s defense is very good, the only thing missing is a good running game.

There were many speculation about Brett Farve, why is he still playing? Is he being selfish? Does he still have the arm and the ability?

Not any more.

New England’s 52-7 win and Colt’s 31-7 victory over Panthers makes way for the big game. Colts are the underdogs.

Indianpolis has won series of games against New England. The jinx they had with the Patriots is gone. Question is who has the edge?

Quaterback: Even tough Tom Brady is on his pace to break all records, Peyton Manning has not lost his touch. Both are in the elites. None

Wide Receiver: Harrison and Wayne bring experience, but Wes Welker, Randy Moss and Stalworth have been the premier wide receivers in the league this season. Brady has way too many options. New England

Coach: None

Home field advantage: Do Patriots look scared or scary? None

Running backs: Maroney and faulk have not had big games for New England, while on the other hand Addai and Keith are running over tough defense. Keith had a big game against Tampa Bay while Addai had his way with Caronlina. Colts

Its too close to call, but I think Colts will win by a field goal. 34-31

Another important game will be Eagles vs Cowboys. Dallas is in the elites, but NFC East is one of the toughest group to be in. Giants are on a hot streak and with the way things have gone in the past it is too early to hand the division to any of the teams.

Eagles are having a patchy season. They cannot score points. Dallas on the other hand have Barber, Jone, Witten, Owens and Crayton. Last year Dallas lost both games and I am sure Owens will be ready to settle some scores, be the centre of controversy again. I will again go against the odds Eagles 30-27

Re: NFL

game of the year is here

indy vs. new england, @ indy

havent cheked the odds yet, but should be helluva game to watch.

this matchup is reminiscent of 90s match up between cowboys and 49ers, winner went on to win he superbowl

Re: NFL

...

Re: NFL

this thread is about NFL not CFL. open your own CFL thread, dont derail this one, this aint cafe or general mawsi zobia :snooty:

Indy vs. Patriots on CSB ATM. Indy is up 7-6. Marvin Harrison is out wiht knee injury, dunno how much this will effect indy offense.

Re: NFL

Tom Brady is unstoppable this season. They are gonna win the super bowl yet again.

Re: NFL

Week 9

In one of the most hyped and anticipated games of NFL regular season ever, New England kept its composure and won. Game itself wasn’t explosive in the sense of score, but it had everything. Both teams looked mortal. Brady threw two interceptions and Peyton Manning made several bad decisions. Pats win 24-20

Game shows a lot about the two teams, Pats know how to close games and Brady, no matter how flashy this season, is the same match winner that we saw before.

Joseph Addai ran all over New England through out the first half. Second half not so much. New England defense had problems containing the running.

Patriots relied on their game plan. Moss, Welker and Faulk were involved through out the game. Moss had the big game and kept New England in contention to win the game.

Colts were leading Pats 20-10 when Manning scored on a rush touch down. Game looked sealed. In comes Brady to Moss over the top 55 yard game and the entire stadium was silenced. Brady had two touchdowns in 4th quarter, while Rosevelt Colvin knocked the ball from Manning to give New England perfect 9-0.

Things we can take away from the game;

  • New England defense has problems. They were unable to hold the Colts in first half.
  • New England has game breakers in the name of Wes Welker and Randy Moss.
  • Colts without Harrison and Wayne dropping an open pass show that the wide receivers are not getting the job done.
  • Joseph Addai brings Colts the much needed ground game.
  • Manning must close game.

**30 Rush, 296 yds 3 TDs **

Minnesota Vikings Running Back Adrian Peterson had the game of his life. No one can stop this guy. Peterson scored two of his three touchdowns and gained 253 yards in the second half. Vikings were behind 14-7.

Steelers also showed their might when they destroyed the Ravens in Monday Night Football. Big Ben had his big game with 5 touchdowns. Steelers defense gave McNair and Willis no opportunity.

Cowboys did the same with Eagles where Terrel Owens showed Phillidelphia whats he is all about. It was in a very long time where Eagles lost to Cowboys at home.

Packers and Brett Farve are still rolling and pulling away with the lead. Same with Lions, Kitna had another big game 16-31, 252 yds 2 TDs while Shaun Rogers intercepted Patrick Ramsey for 66 yards. Denver lost 44-7.
