New Year's Plans

So what is everyone doing on NYE?

I am breaking out with a range of events:

  • I am throwing a party at the crib. A chilled out affair starting at 6PM with some gourmet finger foods, my boy bringing the champagne and the Dom. I don’t drink or buy alcohol so that’s his deal. The DJ will be spinning some international tunes, will make sure that he throws in a Pakistani song (maybe some Atif Aslam remix). Change out of jeans to the new black Zegna, put on the pink versace tie. Don’t want the crew to overeat, so..

  • Hit up Top of the Hub for the 9 PM reservation. Park the cars in the Pru garage, 8 Benzes and 4 Bimmers driving in full formation, you won’t miss us when we’re on the road. For dinner, try their Pan Seared Salmon with a side of arugala, bottomless chai for me. Check out the view, link up with the work colleagues at the table near the piano. Say hello to a certain hostess and head out to..

  • Underbar. Backroom #2 Private party 11 PM. The Harvard crew in full effect. Dance to the old school house beats, throwing it down with Scotty (DJ/homeboy), reliving the college craziness, toast to Mike/Jill (married on Dec 6). Drinking Diet Coke while the crew is getting tipsy. Maybe request some Daft Punk in honor of the french homie in town for the weekend. Dude was the coolest cat at MIT. Bounce outta there and cab it over to the..

  • The ball, at 11:45, to ring in the New Year with the 2 best friends. Keeping things halal so have an OJ and do the countdown, head right after 12AM. What am I going to do? Kiss some slobbery drunk ho, hell no! Get back to the garage..

  • Gather up with the functional crew at 12:30 AM (at this point it doesn’t matter if its work friends, college buddies, or just friends). Head over to the packed IHOP for some pancakes, more coffee. talk about the night and plans (I don’t do resolutions) for '09. Call up the folks to see whats up in Londontown. Drive home..

  • Get home at 3 AM. Take off the suit, loosen the tie and hit the bed. Wake up noonish for brunch with the best friend.

Of course things might turn out differently depending on the vibe at each of the venues, but that’s the plan for now.

wow. that's some plan!

I am like the last minute person, so I haven't really planned anything. But am sure we'll have some last minnit family get-togethers for sure.

Re: New Year’s Plans

Not halal per se but kosher ,I guess.

Re: New Year's Plans

well spock it was not usally a case of trying to stay up but yeah.

my new years eve plans are very simple and they are just hanging with friends and family.
the rest of the usual stuff, done solo and as a couple, now with pidoos around, they take priority..plus finding a babysitter for new years eve is a ... well you know what :)

cool…you’ll be home in time for tahajjud. :mash2:
