Getting off a meeting at noonish on new year`s eve and then driving to pick some friends along with some friends from work and then driving to Montreal, PARTY all nite and come back on the evening of the 1st.

I'll pray to Allah that new year brings peace and happiness for everyone and All Mighty keep showering us with blessings .......
We will make resolution as a person and as a family that we will try to live our life as much as we can as per Islamic values.....
We have already decided (and convinced our 6 years old) that there will be no birthday celebrations this years, instead money will be going to poor and hungry...
thats pretty much all for the celebrations :)

Watch the ball drop on tv and then sleep :) Oooh and plenty of yummy food will be made on Wednesday afternoon and going to eat out new year's day with friends in the city.

nothing much, mr weasel on call that night. oldest son not home went back after christmas. probably just do the usual, have both of them on speaker phone and wish each other new year when the time comes. then go to bed. thatz how it usually is. will be leaving 2 visit fam for the weekend on friday tho. that will cheer us up as we havent left town since summer break.
nvr thought bout that. nice idea…kinda romantic 
but i think most people are too drunk to stay up to watch the sun rise

My friend’s birthday is January 1st so I’m having a nice quiet get together at his place.

Yep, my parents told me they used to do that when they got married, i.e. stay up and watch the 1st sunrise of the year. Its not just an urban concept. Dawn used to do a compilation of pictures of farmers sitting calmly and watching the first sunrise of the year, whilst making new promises and resolutions and making prayers for peace and prosperity for all.

sheyn have you decided what you will do yet? If you let us know the general area that you will be in, I'm sure there will be some who can offer suggestions. I agree, you should definitely have the best experience possible!
Of course you could always hang out with pak-one, the Harvard crew and the French homie from MIT. Perhaps he has an extra Versace tie he could share with you? I doubt he has extra Zenga suits lying around, but maybe, just maybe he does.. And have you ever gotten a chance to ride in a procession of BMWs and Mercedes? That sounds like an exciting, once in a lifetime experience! He doesn't seem like the type to finish his whole meal, so I bet he wouldn't mind if you picked on his salmon (which, mind you, will be pan-seared and WITH A SIDE OF ARUGALA! YES, ARUGALA!)
Listen, if you get a chance to 'throw down' with pak-one **please get DJ Scotty's autograph for me! Him and **pak-one are homeboys, and I've never had a real-life DJ friend!
