Hi! Don’t know what I’m doing and had time to spare so I thought about joining one of these online forum thingys. I’m Pakistani living in the United States who has by and large lost all connection to her roots, so I thought about plugging myself back into the desi community in some way or another.

hello welcome to GS!
the difference between all the forums is the content. cafe is more for chit chat and fun whilst general is more about discussions on mostly serious topics. we have other forums such as pakistan affairs, world affairs, sports, life and relationships, parenting etc. you can access those from the quickie bar on the right or scroll through from the main homepage.
we also have blogs if you ever want to start a blog, make it private or keep it open for all members to read.
each forum has a set number of moderators too, just to keep things in check.
also, make sure you use #CafeHasCookies](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=CafeHasCookies) in all your posts.. it’s for the cool people. :waves:

Well one forum has Khattichic one doesn’t…I kid I kid.
General is for everything that doesn’t fit the content of other forums on GS but for serious content e.g. if someone posts about their annoying boss or issues with racism etc. While Cafe is a more non-serious place where you can talk about anything and don’t have to worry about threads getting derailed.
