New season, clean slate, fresh training logs

Re: New season, clean slate, fresh training logs

Glad things are going well, Royal. What is Macklemore.

Was diagnosed with a torn muscle. Got steroid injection. Told to not run for some time. 3 weeks to heal it seems. And no power walking.

So doing gentle walks. And stationary bike. Got a TV finally for the room where bike is. Make it go easier.

Getting fitter. Lost 1.5 pct of my weight in last few weeks. Will take that.

Hope Sidra workout coming along.

Yogi, could you please dislike above post?

Re: New season, clean slate, fresh training logs

me:
I used to speed walk religiously every day for an hour and I was 124 pounds.
now:
work schedule is crazy and after i pick up my little one from school and get home i’m so tired so the only time I would have time is at night or evening after 6:30 but then i have to make dinner and after dinner it’s about 8 and then it’s bath time and bedtime so the only real time is around 9:30 pm

Don’t they usually recommend not to workout at night because it disrupts the sleep cycle stuff?

I was all muscle with skinny legs and flat stomach and now i’m all smushy everywhere with my tummy sticking out a bit and since my workout focused on legs before my legs are all flabby now. I’m feeling like there’s no hope and it’ll be a difficult uphill battle getting myself back to a workout routine of losing the flab,5 pounds and toning.

Help Southie :frowning:

Re: New season, clean slate, fresh training logs

@salaam2k14 I think it depends. For some people, it gives them energy, for others it might help them to sleep better. Try it for a few days to figure it out.

My workouts are not going well at all. I think I more worried about the food I am consuming.

Re: New season, clean slate, fresh training logs

@salam2k14

Rather than be worried about setting aside a chunk of time for exercise, how about doing exercise whenever you can squeeze it in. I walk 30 min during lunch using running shoes. A power walk.

You could do some 20 min in the morning. Say 20 min at lunch. And 20 min when you come home. Or even after dinner.

People get intimidated and disheartened when they cannot find that large chunk of time. Splitting it into manageable portions may allow them to get almost the same amount and quality of workout. Without the stress of allotting a 1 hour. Hunk of continuous time.

Ralax. Chill. And do what you can. And good luck.

@Sindra54

It is always one step back and 2 steps forward. In terms of food, we do the best we can. Great ourselves once in a while. Everything in balance. Don’t let the worrying about food come in the way of exercise. Cheers!

lol @ Sindra :rotfl: @**Silver**FalconofKashmir used to call me that

Thanks Southie!

Re: New season, clean slate, fresh training logs

Yep there’s yummy food everywhere unfortunately but I tried the evening after9:30 workout but honestly I was so dead tired after work and doing all the chores, taking care of my little one by the time I got her to sleep soundly i’m almost asleep too so getting enough energy to workout at after 9:30 just won’t happen.

I can never do anything during lunch except try my hardest to pick the healthy item to eat and then it’s back to work. I did try to get some speed walking sessions during work just to work on work issues on the other side of campus and instead of going on the work vehicle, I just park it and go walk to the other building. My body is waking up slowly to workout mode but I need a good strong 1 hr daily to get back to where I was before but I hope my body will crave it again so I’ll try your suggestions.

Re: New season, clean slate, fresh training logs

Joined a gym 2 months back. Enjoying it. Go there 3 to 4 times a week. Directly from work. Mostly I do Ellipticals hill climb. On good days burn 300 calories. On lazy days 150. No idea if that’s good or bad because normally I just rlused to run and never bother abt calories burnt.

After Ellipticals I do weights. One day arms. Other legs.

Nowadays when a bike session is on, I join the session. Some gal asks us to turn on resistance turn off sprint climb hill back on seat you can do it go team blah blah blah. It is fun.

Back pain decreasing. Stopped those stretches. Doctor told me I should continue. You :an do it. Blah blah.

Weekends oifu and I walk. One day river. Another a mountain hike.

Psyched. How you all doin.
