Unlike queer, training has virtually ground to a halt this winter. Estimated baseline time for 5K 29 min.
Others are welcome to post their training logs. The following phrase has always brought about a good mindset for me. Others can use whatever phrase that motivates them. Let the training and logging begin.
Well, the ffirdt day (Feb 20) staarted off slow. Walked 0.75 miles in mall while oifu was shopping.
Day 2 21st. Walked 1.5 miles lunch hour. ( 1st time in about a month or more).
Day 3. Today. Went for a jog up nearby mountain. Each way 2.2 miles. With about 1.7 miles climb up. Did weights. 40 lbs. Two different exercises. Just one Rep of 10.
Was struggling. Took several breaks. Expected. But it can only get better. That's the beauty of starting with a clean slate. Baby steps. Manage expectations. Like investing for the long term.
Lord Ganesha has not been too kind. Haven't done notn last few weeks. Went to the nearby mountain sat. Went to track today to establish 5K baseline. 36 min 10 sec. Far slower than the 29 min estimated. Going Southie in a hurry.
One plus point. Beat queer by 40 meters while finishing 7.5 rounds at 21m 18 sec. Mr. q was on his last lap.

ran a 10K last month in 44:14, and a 5K 3-4 months ago in 21:27. so maybe not quite 40 meters, maybe 15-20. :p
taking a break from running, too many niggling aches and tightness issues waiting to be injuries. going to india for two weeks, and will use it as time off to heal up. and start the next training cycle.
do you have a training plan? how much do you would be running in a week? i find planning out a week or two of runs helps me stay motivated, but then i'm a rigid control freak.
My estimate of 108 sec per lap for your 21m 27 sec was off top of my head. Was way off. Redid calcs on my head with more care. Your pace is 103.2 sec per lap. Wow.. That's fast.
Anyway that adds 1.5 m to the 33 m lead I had assuming 21 m 27 pace.
Went to track again today. 30 m 30 sec. Not great. But yesterday was an outlier. Kaalu was kadukkaling. Felt like lead feet. Combine of factors. Not the least was a chottai pair of shoes.
There were high school kids training today. Gave some energy. On 20th had estimated baseline at 29. Since then, too much peyt pooja. Non existent workout. So estimate on the money.
Target 25 min 1 month.
24 min 2 months
23 min 3 months
22 m 5 months.
Time will tell, as Economists and Technical Analysts are prone to say.
Downside - parents waiting for their kids in parking lot were idling their car. This will be reported in the wideky followed Environmental Corner of All Views.
The Eashwar Allah collaboration seems to be working. Today stayed off my feet. Hit the stationary bike. Varied resistance 1 to 9 back to 5. 40 min 6.8 miles.
Weights. 40 lbs 10x2 curls
10x1 above head.
Chin ups. 37. Rest. 15.
Push ups. 15.
Back to the track today. The one day break from jogging helped as expected. Did a 5K trial. Again. 29 m 04 sec. What I had estimated to be the base on Feb 20. I will take it.
Now comes the fun part. Chop off time.
Tomorrow - may do wind sprints in the track. 100m brisk straightaway 100 m jog curves. 10 rounds total.
As planned, today we hiked up a nearby mountain. Since we walk to the place that is 2.5 miles. We did a long loop. That is 5 miles. For total of 7.5 miles. Feeling sore.

After 3 reps was feeling sorer and tireder. Reminded myself to MAINTAIN FORM. AND NOT IVER COMOENSATE BY FLAILING ARMS AND LEGS. Paid off with 2m 7 2m 1 and 1m 54.
This is a humbling experience. Long journey ahead. Am sure several can identify.
Took an hr off from work and went to the track. 2 round warm up. Was planning windsorints. The highbschool kids were leaving. But a 16-17 yr boy was doing 800m reps. Between reps he would do dituos and other exercises. Speed was circa 90 sec per lap.
Decided to do one 400 for his 800. 1st one was 99.9 sec. ( he was at abt 90s per lap pace).
Then break fir me. Waited fir his next 800m. This time 101.9s.
That was it. A big mental hurdle cleared with the sub 100s 400.
It was very windy today. So slacked off.30 min stationary bike. Increased resistance 1 to 8. 3 sets of 15 situps. 2 sets of 15 pushups. Stretching. Then the fat lady sang.
