Finally bought a new running shoe. I have flat feet. Hence Protonation. Got one with good support for feet.
Today we went on same mountain. Wife walked up. I did slow continuous jig all the way up. Since we also walk to mountain that is 3 mikes round trip. Add 2.2 mikes for up and down.
Due to S and S duet question been watching diet mire carefully. Cut out Sunday beer.
Per oifu today was track day. She was all ready when I walked in. I protested she never informed me. Protest in vain off to track we go.
She wanted to do slow continuos. But was feeling lethargic. Told her to do 3×1200 with 400 m walk. Sure enough sglge struggled 1st 1200. Became progressively better. Didn’t time.
I was planning 5K time trial.

Were 1st 4 lap times. 8m 57 mile. And going south. Kaalu was kadukkaling again. So stopped.
Walked 300m. Did 400m in 2m 10. Another in similar.
Did 3 200s. About 55 s each.
Today was half marathon day. Got sunny after 30 min. Oifu don’t do well in sun. She literally couldn’t see at times. Had to drop off at 9 miles. In 106 min. In 11.75 min per mile. I think she had a good day.
I was targeting 2h10m. Since have been running now for barely over a month half seriously. 2h5.95 was the time. I will take it.
Left foot protonation. Screaming pain. That’s life.
Strained left and right shoulder while trying to reach down to calf while running - irritating scratch. Each time the pain was intense. Had to slow to crawl for 8 min each time. Age catching up. That’s life.
Nice friendly organizer. Friendly runners. Good time.
Always good to check on progress. Clearly my projection on March 10 was way too optimistic. And that’s ok. Set high target (relatively speaking). But no need to be discouraged.
Half Marathon was at 29.5 min 5k pace. Not blazing by any stretch. But a month ago was at 29 min 5k pace for 5k. So that’s progress. Also mile 1 of half marathon do else in 8 13 sec. Showed me that 7.5 min mile for 1 mile within reach. Grab victory where you can. Glass half full and all that nice stuff. Got to have fun with it.
Today was first day back after sat half marathon. Walked 0.9 miles to group meeting during lunch. Oifu and I went to track. Oifu was feeling stiff - as I type she just got off computer complaining abt leg stiffness. She wasn’t sure what to do. I gave her something new to try. 600 m brisk repeats. Without stopwatch. This was her first 600 m reps on the track. She loved it. 200 m break between reps.
I went without a plan. Warmed up. Within 150 m felt light footed. If that’s a phrase. So just ran faster. After 401k walked 200 m. Then did brisk 400m. 200 m walk.

More important felt great. FOR FIRST TIME THIS SEASON.
Three days ago dug out an old insert that podiatrist got made for my pronation. I now wear this to work…Oifu got insert for me from footlocker. That coupled with saucony I started wearing yesterday. No pain. Good as new.
Today walked 1.2 mile lunch. Doing stationary bike. Have done 52 min and 4.1 miles. Will stop shortly. Tomorrow track. Pyramid. There is bounce in them steps.
Today was day to do distance at the track. Oifu 5 miles in 57 47s. Last 3 miles at 10 30 s pace. Which is fast for her.
I did 10k 66 m 45 s. 1st half at 3 3m 17. So even. After last week marathon didn’t expect anything better. Mission accomplished. Tomorrow mountain hike.
