I'm sure then Muhajir in Bahawalpur & Multan will establish MQM there too. This is bitter Truth as some forces already trying to create these things there too which I really hate. Although i really hate this word Muhagir & local as the people who ve born there are not Muhabir. They are part of Pakistan now and they should call Pakistani first.

Is there any problem with MQM organizing in other areas of Pakistan , And perhaps one knew Multan and Bahwalpur ,he should knpw that most Muhajir there are not Urdu speaking .

According to Dr Shahid Masood's tweets Seraiki province might be announced today, PM and President both are in Multan I guess.

How can they make the province without a resolution in its support from Punjab assembly? I dont think its possible or is it a hogwash?

I think the PM has converted it into a political issue he wants a big Seraiki province so as to cash it in the next elections, where as if they go for administrative division it should have a Bahawalpur and Multan provinces. Sahiwal is a Punjabi district, and only 2-3 hours away from Lahore, they are adding some areas of Sahiwal into the province as well. Plus if they include DI Khan/Tank as well that would further complicate the issue.

There is no way to make Saraiki province before next elections .
And there is no mandate with anyone for new provinces .
I repeat administrated divisions of five each of every province can solve many problems at this stage but who cares .
Raza Rabbani can do it .

MQM alone is not responsible for Karachi's situation. Karachi is unique in the country because it has people from all over the country living there. So putting blame of security situation in Karachi on one party alone is not true.
If MQM alone was responsible for violence in Karachi then people would not have voted for them over and over again.

There is no way mentioned in the constitution for making new provinces so first we need a constitutional amendment to determine the process than a provincial approval should be asked , There is an article in this thread about this .
I have seen a very old article on this issue in Urdu .

^ Well, that is what has always been said about creation of new provinces. That is what ANP's biggest objection was when the demand to create Hazara province was made in the assembly. They said that it should first be approved by the provincial assembly.

Looks like Seraiki province will be reality at the end of PPP tenure.

MULTAN: President Asif Ali Zardari made a spirited defence of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday, putting down a “barrage of false allegations” against him to his commitment to creation of a Seraiki province.

During a meeting with parliamentarians and delegations of People’s Party from Multan division, Mr Zardari cited the “fabrication” of a case against Ali Musa Gilani, the prime minister’s son, in the ephedrine import scam to buttress his assertions about a “witch-hunt against” Mr Gilani.

The President also made a significant statement on the province issue, saying that he had authorised Mr Gilani to begin efforts for “consensus-building” by reaching out to major political players.

**“Seraiki province will be created by the present government before the general election and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani himself will make the announcement,” he said.

The creation of Seraiki province would be a great setback for the PML-N, Mr Zardari observed.

He said since the creation of Pakistan, the Seraiki region had been deprived of its rights and wondered that “if we do not give rights to the people of this area, who will do so”.**

“People could join terrorist groups or small political parties by isolating themselves if they are denied their rights. This will weaken the country,” the President remarked. “Creation of a Seraiki province is not a political issue but a matter of safeguarding integrity of the country.” He said that to make the Seraiki province viable there was a need to include some non-Seraiki districts, too.

He said although he had ceded presidential powers voluntarily, the chief minister of Punjab was clinging to many ministries.

In reply to a question about loadshedding, he said “we will not go into election until we ensure availability of electricity for 24 hours”.

Asif Zardari said the tribal area of southern Punjab (Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan) would be given the status of “A” area and he had directed the interior ministry to submit a report to him in this regard
