Take India where many provinces shaped up after independence. Even though they are called state as well. There are so many examples out there if one really wants to learn something. If not its just keep gonna messy

And btw, in US or elsewhere, military is not designated to individual states, it still remains federal alongwith currency.

Right from 1947, India is ruled by democracy. All changes in the setup of India is through democratic process i.e. approved by majority. Not by someones wishes to suit his/her own agenda.

Do you know how much state enjoys the self governance in America? The state senators make the laws, changes the laws and makes the federal government in US congress. Again you are comparing apples with oranges. US army represents all the states and territories of America, not 90% from just one province.
