The biggest issue we have is insincere leadership, and like arshad mentioned a good local government system to devolve the resources. There should be equitable distribution of resources within provinces otherwise there is no guarantee that creation of provinces will solve the problems.
Creation of provinces is not as easy as some people propagate it to be, first of all some mechanism needs to be established to divide the resources within provinces and the impact on other provinces as this will involve resource distribution (from federal pool), water and senate seats etc. Considering the precarious situation the country is in at the moment, I don’t think this is a good time. It has a potential to further aggravate things. KPK and Balochistan are hotspots, can they be divided? MQM wants Sindh to be divided too, will Sindhi nationalists agree to that? It’s a pandorras box.
The most important province at this point of time is fata, who no one talks about.
As long as we have one party representing the biggest province, they will eat up the majority of resources and they will divert resources to their favored places to secure their future political gains.
