JFK Airport, was named after President Kennedy…but he was not from there.
Take any country for the matter, I dont think it really matters if the person is from that place or not, as long as that person had great influence in their country.

Just joking. When Jinnah terminal was made in Karachi, they made the old terminal for cargo, haj and other special flights. It was a good idea to divide the load, as Jinnah was smaller.
Saby the airport is for the rich society of Pakistan. The common man doesnt give a damn. If you cant feed your children do you give a damn for the airport.
To an earlier point. Roads are used by everybody and have indirect positive affects on society. If you can get to a village via a good road, you can bring water electricity etc. With the new airport terminal what are you gonna do? Fly in?

CM: The terminal wasn't built because of a specific need for it, nor was the Lahore Isloo Motorway. It's all the fine work of our former PM Nawaz Sharif. Having eaten his 900 mice he sits comfy in Saudi:)
Word Brotha! It was a waste of time. The highway is an achievement for NS to get his food red hot in Islamabad.
Its nice to see somthing new that we can all enjoy being constructed back home.. But did they have to use brick? And why does everything we build have to look "Islamic." I means what the hell is Islamic?
I would have liked to see more modern materials used. I think there is a nice trend in airports design these days with their wide sweeping arches that really make a huge impression on people coming in or out of the country.
Regardless, its nice to see Pakistan investing in infrastructure. A "world class" airport is long overdue.

I heard most people traveling between Pindi and Lahore, perfer the GT road since it is cheaper and more interesting a drive.
Thats another thing, whats the point of a road most people cant afford to drive on?

I disagree... An good looking airport projects a good immage of the country on foreigners and locals alike. Its an investment in advertising for the country at the very least.
